I’ve been hiking a lot this winter, and seen a lot of this kind of view: heather fields with overcast skies. It’s typical dutch nature during this time of year. Here are some quick studies, in which I played around with textured brushes to get the clouds right. There’s also some close-ups and the original ref photos!

What I am curious the most is how you analyse and interpret reality and put them in to shape. You paint great landscapes.
