I was going through my old art and spotted a drawing from 2003 that I made with a permanent marker and highlighters! I wanted to see how she would look with my current skillset. It was fun working with these neon colors… and in general just seeing how my style and work has evolved since 2003, when I started drawing these types of female characters for the first time!

This is really cool - an instant favorite! Somehow I keep thinking how great this would look in acrylics, big format... not that I know much about acrylic painting :)

i think you have a point there, i found that acrylics work best with really bright colors and thick brushstroke textures!

I love this painting! It feels so calming when illustrators do this because it tells you that it’s not like they were always amazing at drawing and that you can improve too!
