It’s week two of #brushtober so I’m diving into ink wash and ecoline! For me it’s basically a transitional phase between inktober and full-on painting, a way to dip my toes into the painting mindset. I’m trying to approach ink in a more painterly way, creating volumes and blending a bit more than I normally would. The theme for this week is ‘slice of life’, and since I had a beautiful deep yellow ecoline ink, I wanted to make it about the yellow shoes and scarf that I wear when autumn hits! Something about this color really gets me in the mood for this season :)

I absolutely love that orange color with this piece! It's so pretty!

Love! Do you ever do tutorials for traditional mediums like this? Would love to see your painting process.

thank you! i've been so obsessed with yellow and orange this year so it feels good to go all-in on that haha.

I love the intense textures in this! Gorgeous!

Haha yea, I would've thought the orange would be too much, but with the other dark colors it was really fitting and refreshing. It's fun to see you test different things this year. I also made my own challenge where I'm using water colors, and it seems like it finally clicked how to use water colors. I'm also gonna test ink + watercolors so might try to aim for something similar of a color scheme like this. Looking forward to see what's coming next!

I'm interested in what brush you use, i saw the refillable watercolor pen brush? do you fill the ink inside or ... just use the to dip into the ink? haha

oooh that yellow is awesome! I love a pop of color with dark inks. I did that this year with red :)

This really encompasses the season! And I just love the textures you created here. So flowy <333

That yellow has officially become my favorite color. Way to make it pop!!!

red is so beautiful as an accent. i might try that too, in my next drawing!

i had some ink in there! i actually couldn't find my little pot of ink so the ink in that pen was the only ink i had for this drawing haha.
