I took the art that I drew during the color choices tutorial and finalized it on the iPad! I made some screen recordings while painting it so you can see my process, but I just need to assemble them into a video before I can post that. So that’s coming soon! For now, hope you like this one ~ and if you haven’t seen the color choices tutorial yet, definitely check it out so you can see how I approached choosing the colors for this one!

By now, I know for sure what I love about your deteiled art: eyes (incredible, big, incredibly narrative) and lips/expression

how do you know when to stay monochromatic and when to introduce contrast? The painting is beautiful, but i would have ruined it thinking to introduce another color. Is it just a style/design choice to stick to this scheme and on another day you might play with adding color contrast?

Hello Kenneth, I am glad you asked that question. forgive me for adding to your comment. I am not sure how much you practice in color theory, which would definitely help with choices. I have learned, speaking from my own observation, through Loish's videos, I can explore color "ideas" through the software(Filters or Adjustment tools). This personally helps me to find what's working instead of a planned..color scheme(Red/Blue, Triadic, Complementary...etc) Unless a client is involved and they have specifics it's nice to explore what's working.

Beautiful work as always! Sorry if this has been asked already - but is there a specific reason why you finished the piece on the ipad? Thanks!

thanks so much! it was mainly because of convenience.. i just wanted to sit on the couch and draw rather than sit behind my PC / wacom setup :)
