Wow, I can't believe it's already the last day of this bizarre month. I hope you enjoyed the art and videos! I'll be sending out the google drive link with all of the content for this month later today. It's also the last day to download content from last month, so be quick if you haven't done that yet!

Here’s a quick review of how this month went for me:

CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

The outbreak of this virus had a huge impact on my ability to concentrate on creating art. As the situation got increasingly alarming, I had to figure out a lot of things: how to cancel my upcoming trip to New York, getting a work-from-home setup going, how to compensate for lost income from cancelled workshops, and of course contacting friends and family to make sure they were ok. It was a very draining month for me but I managed to bounce back  and things are going a lot better now. I’ve been self-isolating since March 10, and I’ve managed to regain my sense of structure and focus since then!

MORE VIDEOS & RESOURCES

I spent more time this month than previous months making resources: an overview of my brushes, step-by-steps explaining my process, and process videos with supporting text to explain my thought process as I draw. This is mainly because I get a lot of questions from you guys about my process so I feel more motivated to share info about how I work! I hope you’ll find this month’s content educational and insightful. If you have any ideas about stuff you’d like to see more of, feel free to let me know!

I hope you guys are all getting through this pandemic and are healthy, safe, and have all the resources you need. My thoughts are with all of you!

If you have any feedback or questions, please feel free to share them with me through a direct message or e-mail to business@loish.net. Any and all feedback is welcome! I hope you’ll continue to be my patron and enjoy the content coming up next month! ❤

Hi Lois! This months content was very helpful for me and I will stay for you as a patreon bec I get so much insights as a learning artist myself. I think you are doing great sharing your process and workflow. I liked the quick studies of the heads very much and the brush breakdown. I think interesting for me would be if you also could upload the reference side by side, so we can study what you did and where exactly you did stylize and exaggerated the features. For me thats what I´m trying to learn. How to find the essence of a person in their face whie stylizing. Also what I struggle the most is, to get a feeling for colour. And as you are the mastress of vibrant colours so my wish would be if you could make a video about that and talk us trough your thinking process. There is so much i dont understand yet with colour in digital art.. blending modes, harmonies, what shadow/light colour to choose, how to avoid having too much colour or too less. Basically how you decide or aproach colour. Also I struggle with blending. Is it really only about practising? Stay safe <3 Liese

Really happy to read your feeling better, this has been a strange emotional time, being able to support you in this way makes reality seem a little more normal. I hope you and your family & friends stay safe through all of this. Fingers crossed we get to see you in person at Lightbox in September 😊
