Last month I went to the zoo with a bunch of other artists and we sketched the animals from life. It made me realize how much I love drawing animals - not only do I love their energy and movement, but it’s such a learning process for me because I almost never draw them! Here’s a bunch of animal studies I’ve done in the past - the first ones are from life at the zoo, and the rest are from photo reference. 

I'd love to do some animal studies this month. Maybe we could choose an animal together and all take some time to do studies of it! Sort of like a group sketching session. What do you guys think?

Those doggo sketches are stunning!! Love how your lines look ‘rough’ yet the shapes are still so crisp and clean. I’m trying to get better at my mark making and I know it means I need to sketch more. 😁 A group drawing session would be most welcome. ❤️

I would love to do a group session! It sounds like good practice and a lot of fun! Maybe animals that we don’t see daily? That aren’t very common? I would also love to do a dinosaur session 😍.

I love these! I enjoy sketching animals too, and I think it's for the same reason, I rarely do it, so it's different and fun.

I love these, especially the foxes! I think it would be fun to do a group sketching project. Maybe pick an animal from Australia (other than the koala, which seems to have a lot of [deserved] attention already) to shed some light on a species that's been impacted by the fires.

I'm always so impressed when artists are able to make coherent animal drawings from life when they're forever moving! Gorgeous work. And yes a group sketch session sounds like loadsa fun!

I would love to participate in the group sketching, it sounds really fun! I'm currently drawing some animals as practise too. BTW i love your sketches~~
