Hey everyone and welcome to another mod development blog, once again focusing on our efforts on Vanilla Factions Expanded - Deserters.

This time I come to show you some of the wonderful soundtracks created by dendroid101!

He is quite well known in the RimWorld modding community and has created music for Biomes! Prehistoric, as well as for Reinforced Mechanoids mod by Helixien.

Dendroid101 also released his own music mod called Music Expanded Core which adds numerous new, fitting tracks to RimWorld.

I have requested that he creates some combat music for our new deserter-related missions that isn't as 'in your face, shooty shooty pew pew' and the vanilla combat music is. He did not disappoint. The new audio tracks are full of suspense, thrill, danger and I believe represent the Deserter content quite well.

During Deserter quests, only this music will play. You will not hear default combat music when sabotaging the Imperial shuttle staging post.

I have requested that the music should be inspired by the title of XCom 2, but at the same time fit the Royalty DLC music. I wanted it to be a mix of suspensful tune with modern, synth effects.

I seem to only be able to showcase one tune, so I'm attaching them all as attachments to this post. Make sure to give them a listen!

Let me know what you think about these tracks and if new music is something we should look into adding with every mod. And make sure to head over to Music Expanded Core and give dendroid some love!

Sounds fantastic. Love the vibe on these tracks. (I got strong XCOM bias though) Plus seconding misterferny, Vanilla Music Expanded makes me drool. Could ideology styles be a good excuse to revamp entire playlists? Or whatever colony related triggers for different tracks. Colony has sanguophages -> edgy vampire music etc.

Damn, I was already in love with the theme and feel of this mod, but these tracks alone demand joining the Deserters. Dendroid101 really nailed that XCOM-Rimworld vibe; what a pro. It's really going to take things to the next level.
