Hello everyone and welcome to a quick development blog entry about the upcoming update to Vanilla Factions Expanded - Pirates.

I'm taking today rather easy and only plan to release this update and maybe spend a few minutes preparing the Psycasts Expanded beta.

As always with our content, I have prepared the infographics which will explain everything our update brings to the table in detail.

So yeah, quite a bit update. Don't you ever say 'VE just pushes out new mods without updating the old ones'!
Next up, we will start conceptualizing an update for Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids.

The VFE-Pirates update will release later today.

Was there plans for Psychic Warcaskets? Really looking forward to having a Warcasket that meditates all the time when Psycasts is done. Oh and do any of the warcaskets satisfy noble requirements? Sorry if it's been asked but just can't remember if it was answered!

Psycasket? That’s a maybe. As for royal requirements: they do not. I doubt any of the fancy pants royals would like to be welded into a chunk of steel.

Looks great! Will the abilities on the new caskets be usable by enemies in raids/friendlies?

Oh no the bugs are next for an update...

I'm glad to hear that some of the older factions are getting a new wave of attention: the tragedy of the VE team is that by getting better with each release, I often wished that the earlier mods were as expansive.

beautiful update, it sold me on joining as a patron! though I'm having a bit of trouble finding where I research the new armor, is the 1.1 update automaticly?

oskarpotocki

If you have the game on steam: yes, update will be automatic. It’s in the Vanilla Expanded research tab!

I found the issue, it was with steam not updating it. Removing and readding pirates solved it

Just having a psychic war casket that could toggle between various buffs (sensitivity, neural heat etc.) would be interesting enough.

I absolutely love this. Furthermore I'm really looking forward to insectoids expanded as the mechanoids update was one of the best ones I've seen. I really hope the updates to existing content will proceed! Personally I'd love to see more ancients, furniture, mechanoids and Ansari/reaper improvements as those are IMHO the coolest mods out of your series.

When it comes to steam mods it's usually good to run Rimworld through a mod manager. It'll keep mods up to date. Steam is doo doo at that occasionally
