Hey there, hello everyone, to the 190th Development blog! That's right, there is one hundred and ninety development blogs accessible on this Patreon. That's like... a small book worth of reading about mod development. Pretty cool, am I right?

I'm flying away to Poland today for the weekend, but before I go I can proudly say that I've prepared the infographics for the Psycasts Expanded beta. Not everything is done yet (only 50% of paths are done), but when you think about it, the mod already has 100 new psycasts in a finished state.

We plan to release the first beta in the coming weeks so people can help us test if everything works, as well as balance the mod out. There is so many abilities, and we need to make sure that their casting cost, etc, is adequate. We don't want some abilities being effectively more powerful at a lower cost than others.

New psycaster gear, unlocking paths, psysets, patches to Royalty eltex gear, it's all coded already. All we have left is the abilities, more or less.

So, I guess it's best I just show you the infographics so far.

That's it for now. This description should give you an idea how this mod works and what it brings to the table. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here in the comments, and I will try to get around to answering them all.

How many rings can one person wear? I'm thinking of an "I Am Iron Man" Achievement where a warcasket wears 5 different psycast rings, but maybe that's only a pipe dream haha. Just gotta say this is next level in terms of content. I don't know how y'all crank out so many mods, but the community is more than lucky to have y'all. Thanks a ton

I'm assuming Regrow Limbs removes scars as well? It would be a bit funny if it incentivised you to cut off scarred limbs before using it.

I feel that some degree of anti-psyker gear would be warranted both to defend ourselves from raids, and raids from us. Psychic foil shields or suits that reduce sensitivity, eltex-tipped crossbows, and psychic heat rays, perhaps? I'm sure they'd really come in handy for those looking to rebel against the empire and keep meteors to themselves! I am also personally confused about the Mind Wipe ability. I can only imagine using it in a hypothetical scenario in which a pawn I badly needed for a certain passion/trait had recently lost their entire family after they were beat to death by my colony, and the resulting mental breaks and social fights were too much to bear. Wouldn't, say, the ability to psychically impact the goodwill of a different faction have more utility for a high-ranking psycast in that tree?

Mind wipe instantly recruits a prisoner too! There is a psycast to increase relations - word of foretelling does it in Chronopath, as well as Word of Alliance in Archon path. As for the psycasting defense gear - you're right, foil helmets will help with SOME psycasts, but they won't stop a fire tornado, a fireball etc. No amount of psychic sensitivity reduction will prevent physical manifestations from harming you. You can create Heat Pearls as a Technomancer. They essentially disable enemy psycasters.

i have also a question: what will be the interaction between bionics and the necro path? since good bionic pawns dont exactly have limbs to sacrifice... also, will you order kikohi to update his jewelry mod to accommodate for the eltex stuff being producable now :D

I love that you guys retroactively made the combat way more engaging when all your mods are merged. Psychics, Biotics , Super Powers, War Casters there is basically a sub class system in the game now each with its own way of upgrading that class.

Any plans to create ideologies/memes that revolve around psycast culture/religion as well? (Would certain ideologies revere or revile psycasts for example)

Would be cool if Eltex could be ground down into a powder and taken like a drug (like warpstone) which could increase potency of psycast / recharge at the cost of being extremely addictive and damaging to the brain or something.

can you already say if its better to start a new colony with this mod? or can you add it mid-game?

Question, does reverse engineer work on items that are normally not craftable like monoswords or even persona monoswords?
