Hey folks!

Welcome to a brand new development blog entry. We've been hard at work on Psycasts Expanded, and majority of the framework is now in place. In fact, we can already see all the UI ingame! The mod is really moving ahead fast.

Legodude, our UI coder, also came up with an amazing way to display unlocked abilities, abilities you can unlock, and locked abilities!

So yeah, you can see I wasn't kidding.

A lot of people however said that the wombo artworks don't really fit RimWorld art style too well. I do kind of agree, but I like them a lot, and I will make sure we have a toggle in mod options that allows you to select them!

But, if you prefer a more 'vanilla' approach, I have created amazing tarot-like cards in RimWorld artstyle.

Yep, much more simple, not some weird psychic nightmares. Please remember: You will be able to change between them whenever you want!

I love the Tarot cards. Had no prob with the old style though, still, I'd choose the new cards over the old.

The subtly matching alignment of abilities and the general composition of tarot insignia is just 😘👌

Like the Tarot style and like you're keep the option to toggle between the two. This looks like the mod to get me to *finally* start using psycasters

I'd like to comment on the image that displays the unlockable paths. First, it looks beautiful and so does the art representing each tree. Second, the "Unlock" button is oddly in the way of the nice art or card. Maybe it could be moved to the top or bottom? Or perhaps make the name/title of that tree the actual button? Just a thought

I didn't notice it mentioned in the first post, will these be usable by pawns outside of the colony? This was the biggest dislike I had for vanilla royalty. Be cool to be raided by a Necropath and have them rush to your corpse pile or to ressurrect their fallen party, or protector to remove pain threshold

Yes, that’s why we’re using our ability framework instead of whatever Royalty came with. You can check our Rimeffect mods, they already come with enemy casters!

Will stuff like the synaptic cerebellum from VFE Insectoids be compatible with the new system? It’s the mutation that increases psycasting abilities.
