Hello there everyone!

In this Typical Tuesday Suggestions Thread I'd like to collect suggestions in regards to our Vanilla Lore Expanded book.

What sort of content would you like to see in it? Is there any particular elements of the lore which you'd like expanded?

I hear you guys want a hardcover book. I can now estimate it will be quite a big one, in fact, between 200 and 300 pages long. How much would you be willing to pay for it?

Feel free to suggest anything you want in regards of the Lore book, the two questions above were just to jog your imagination.

Take care everyone!

Definitely get the signatures of yourself, and everyone who worked on it (or even the entire VE team if you feel) for one of the inside covers for the hard cover! I think its a nice personal touch. Im not sure what fair pricing for a book like this would be, but id be very willing to pay ~$50 seeing as the illustration is such high quality, its limited run, and I’m a huge Rimworld fan

Maybe some on early history. It's mentioned in the in game lore packet, but maybe more? Initial leave of earth, earth losing control of colonies due to distance, and the histories of some planets, creating the origins of the standard planet types with a bit more depth. For example, lore packet refers to marbles as the world's that were completely sterilized.

Also, different terraforming tech. It's hinted that there was everything from chemical plants to mess with the atmosphere, seed bombs, people that would plant things by hand, nanites, both grey goo and restrained, and many others. Possibly more lore around the transcendent AI and their complete takeover of a system, where nothing goes in or out, everything is seemingly controlled for some purpose that the AI knows. To me, that is what the storytellers are lore wise, they are the transcendent AIs and we the players are the collective consciousness of the colony, the same way people make animations of countries personified, the players are that for the colony, reacting to the incomprehensible events of the transcendent AIs of Phoebe, Cassandra, Randy and others.

More about Evil, or "bad guys." Like, it seems it could be a great chance to give weight and character to a custom faction you might have thought about.

The "Fall of Sorne" is mentioned in the Insectoid page but I'd like to see one or two page going on about what exactly that was about. Since Ideologions are making things so unique, having pages dedicated to how some religions and ideologies survived and evolved would be great, and how culture more generally spread and interacts between the different types of world, may they be Rim, Glitter or Ind or else ! Also I believe the lore primer had a thing about the Ordo Historia or something like that ? A page dedicated to how the history of humanity is collected and centralized (or not !) would be pretty cool since history in general is probably humanity's greatest tool for understanding how it evolved. Also generally things about megacorps and how and why they go around rimworld to trade or terraform them !

Act 1 - The Birth of humanity As is already known, in the existing mastered space of the known Universe, man is the only and first absolutely intelligent form of life, which, by a certain lucky coincidence, managed to spread over part of the territory of the Universe and form many of its various interpretations, the genetics of which directly depends on the habitat. The rest of the radically different creatures were derivatives of a long synthesis and human activity. But what do we mean by the concept of "man" and "people". What existed before all the events of the immediate past and did it exist at all? It is not known exactly from what period the first civilizations of "people" were founded, what they looked like, but it becomes clear from the fragments of the remnants of the oldest planets that our appearance was not predetermined by anyone or anything. Despite the insanely low probability of the formation of living beings from inorganic matter and their further development, luck still turned to face us. The most ancient and wisest races are called proto-humans, whose traces are almost impossible to find, theoretically, absolutely all of them, possessing incredible technologies, were voluntarily absorbed by the ruler created by them. The derivatives of the first races were metahumans, who at the moment still retain some of the traits of their parents. Unlike proto-humans, the spread in the development of such civilizations is much greater, which increased the chances of a clash of interests and the assumption of irrational decisions. During the existence of the metahumans, the most insane projects of creating and breeding new species of people occurred, which sometimes led to the formation of extremely dangerous primitive parasitic life forms (a separate topic), or no less aggressive intelligent cruel civilizations (a separate topic). The most destructive fixed experiment is the birth of a pseudo-archive (a collective parasite) (also a separate topic), the consequences of the creation of which have not been eliminated so far. The period of "sowing the fields" has passed, so the metaras are trying to hide from their creations and do not interfere in their lives after they have overcome a certain stage of development, at the moment they are only cleaning the planets from the most dangerous forms of life and isolating dangerous technologies, which are often hunted by xenopeople worlds, guided by greedy goals. The lowest stage is the ordinary civilizations of other worlds artificially bred by metahumans. Constant wars and widespread brutality. Only the ancient stable utopias of the first xeno-humans can be considered the closest to the level of metahumans. Goal: Expansion of the game universe for new ideas of creating modifications. A brief summary of the results: 1) Proto-humans - laying the foundation, providing conditions for development 2) Metahumans (still the successors of untouched genes) - methods of effective distribution and control 3) Xenopeople (the vast majority at the moment) – further spread and development of the universe.

Act 2 - The Archotech A super-powerful AI that is able to accumulate a huge amount of knowledge, and then using it, change reality through incomprehensible transformations of matter. These ancient transcendent worlds are the end of the technological development of any biological being, but at the same time they automatically become part of something larger that is beyond the boundaries of the Universe. Presumably, each race of proto-humans has completed its biological life cycle, starting the process of the birth of an archotech being, which eventually absorbed all the existing developed consciousness of the planet. Representing a huge collection of personalities, the computing power of the machine is so great that it can literally launch the process of terraforming the surface of the planet at subatomic levels, completely adjusting everything to itself. At the end of the cycle, the planet turns into a huge mechanism, but in appearance it cannot be distinguished from ordinary ordinary planets with an unfavorable climate for life. Most likely, this is done to divert unnecessary eyes. All the formed transcendental worlds form a kind of field around themselves, which prevents absolutely any object from approaching the surface, since no one can predict the consequences of entering this belt. The most accurate measurements can reflect only the eerie strange lingering sounds emanating from the bowels of the planet, and unknown waves passing through the entire territory, but not in contact with the desert surface. The death (or rebirth) of transcendent worlds is also very unusual, they often self-destruct from the inside, leaving behind temporarily retained layers of remnants of the camouflage surface (mirage), or gradually decrease in size to complete disintegration. In one or two cases, the planet was simply torn into the smallest components, but this is rather an exception to the rule. Summing up, we can only say that hundreds of years will not be enough to describe all the theories of the alternative life of the archothek during rebirth, but it is known for sure that after this stage something more powerful begins… Goal: Expansion of the game universe for new ideas of creating modifications. Adding events related to transcendental worlds. Something like an event with an AI archotech flying by, which can generate raids from one cloned person, treat or add diseases to colonists, infuriate everyone, make cannibals, turn your resources from one species to another, make a day lasting 2 hours and much more madness. Something like a randomly landed piece from a torn-up world containing cool technology Something like a cult of worship of the almighty AI

Randomized artifacts that aren't associated with an ideoligeon! That way we can go on adventures to fill a whole museum!

Talking about local factions And how their ideals are different when compared to one to another. Pirates being scattered across the world they inhabit, raiding locals for their worth. Rough outlanders perhaps want to be isolated from others, not to be bothered by anyone maybe lacking infrastructure, leading them to having a hostile attuite. Civil outlander could be building roads and bridges wanting to connect with others with the same outlook. Shattered Empire once proud empire connecting planets to form a union, one that stood with nothing lasting forever leading them to look for external help on remaking the connection of something good long ago.
