Hey hey hey What's up.

Before I sign out for the week, I'd like to show you something I spent my last two days on.

It's a cheeky unnanounced mod that wasn't on the roadmap, but this is the gist of Vanilla Expanded - do cool shit when we want to. Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Junk will add more junk to vanilla map generation.

Junk is a well received feature that adds a lot of cool character to the maps. You probably noticed ancient parking lots, busted cars, a tank here and there etc.

Well, we're expanding on that with a new selection of junk items - some of them related directly to other Vanilla Expanded mods.

It's nowhere near finished but we have a solid chunk of the art done already. Lets take a look.

Ancient containers, rusted and abandoned for generations, can now spawn among crates and barrels.

New cars will now populate your parking lots.

A destroyed APC will now spawn on the 'battlefields' with tanks, tank traps and warwalkers.

A crashed dropship will spawn with a crashed shuttle and a number of rusted, old space debris.

Ancient mechanoid ship parts can also now appear, creating a direct link to VFE-Mechanoids!

And on top of that, numerous other small bits and bobs to spawn here and there.

I'm also teaming up with Neronix to deliver ancient railroad stations with tracks and trains!

Alright guys, I'm signing out for the weekend, and I will be back on monday dropping more indepth analysis of Ancients, a new faction mod we're developing. I will go through every single mechanic with you.

And I plan to record the Q&A video this week too, if I find a barber to trim my hair!

honestly as simple as mods like this are, theyre some of the best for improving rimworld's storytelling aspects. fantastic artwork too

I agree with you, it's true becouse rimworld's lore very loose and have many ways to improve and upgrade

The first thing I said when I saw the new junk on the map was "Now this place truly looks like a Rimworld."

Oskar if you're going to show us your junk you need OnlyFans not patreon! ... kidding aside, assets look great. I'm still really enamored with my Conan exiles game but I'm sitting here watching the 1.3 content accumulate like a kid at a theater throwing back popcorn. Super excited to throw all the VE and ME mods into a new pack and try an ideology!

I mean, why not? Will we be able to deconstruct them for materials or will they be as they are right now in-game with no value other than blocking you?

Why not make a mod that replace them with more natural formations like dirt mounds or rocks, probably makes more sense than mountains of industrial trash inside a forest.

Well, it's a rimworld, riddled with ancient ruins. I do believe that ancient, rusted junk makes a little bit of sense.

This one is one of the simplest but I'm absolutely adding this. The junk around the maps has seriously added to the quality and storytelling feeling of going around an abandonned RimWorld.
