The whole point is that he waited days to talk to them because he was wanting Tali to be physically present so he could use the information about her survival as a bargaining chip in his attempts to get Sigmund and Eratemus to help kill off the Taken. If he just gave them rumors it would just make them angry, so he waited for confirmation of her arrival at his sect and gave her and Ryun one of the best living arrangements to show sincerity and respect. Now he can just bring Sigmund and Eratemus to Tali, Tali will tell Sigmund they can kill phoenix bitch together when things with the domes are settled and Sigmund can claim Ryun as his brother in name for helping Tali how he has.
