Yes :D This is the episode where most of Flint's backstory and his interactions with Miranda 'clicks' in place and fills a lot of mysteries from their last season and a half of interactions. The kiss here was happens just after that dinner confrontation with Thomas's father. All the threats from Alfred and the commanding officer and Miranda's fear ('they hang men for that') were related to this relationship. Just adultery would not merit that level of scorn. We had info of Thomas fate in bedlam in S1 from Richard. Now we know a bit more what truly led to it and it was not 'inconsolable grief' by any means. I love this relationship reveal because a lot of Flint/Miranda scenes now just sing. This is why while there is a clear devotion but also a lot of resentment between them. This is why in S1 Flint cannot bring himself to accept a pardon because he would have to apologize to England (while we think he might mean for piracy, he means just being himself). This is why for that grief he wants to punish England. I think once this thing drops, rewatching some of earlier Miranda/Flint scenes is super rewarding. Buckle up, because the rest of the season is also amazing :) And thank you as always :)
