sigh this episode! i’m still conflicted over it all these years later. brian was so close! just buy the damn flowers, i yell at him every time he walks away. the thing is i do get it. as much as he is changing and growing, i just don’t think he knows how to show his love in these traditionally romantic ways. like there’s zero doubt that he loves justin and he does constantly show it. always wanting to help and take care of him and doing anything for him and hell just last episode that scene in bed was so incredibly romantic, but because it’s not those recognizable romantic gestures and the words aren’t always beautiful and sweet, it’s not always easy to see it for what it is. and i completely understand why justin would want the more traditional stuff especially because he hasn’t experienced it yet. he’s so young and this is his first relationship and it’s not exactly traditional. i just wish he spoke up more about what he wants out of things to brian. there’s no guarantee that it would help, but at least it would be out there and then if there’s no change, maybe re-examine the relationship but he kinda just goes along with things and doesn’t speak up and it makes me crazy. michael realizing that ben is human and not some perfect being was definitely necessary but that apology scene was pretty spectacular imo. you can see just how much ben regrets going off the way he did and hurting michael. he’s just so sweet and sincere. debbie using this as additional fuel for disliking ben was frustrating. i love debbie but this has to end soon.

I so agree with you. Like, I want Brian to do those things, but also, Justin honestly isn't telling him that. He's just going along with Brian and getting hurt every time because he won't say anything, and it's just building up.

That's the most frustrating thing about Justin and Brian's relationship, Brian is use to Justin knowing him so well now and he takes advantage of it while Justin feels like anything he says that would be different from Brian's routine would be too much change for him so he just sits there and stews.
