I can see both Melanie and Brian´s point of view. Of course it´s kinda selfish that Brian changed his mind. But it´s just kinda stupid that the law doesn´t just allow more than 2 people to have parental rights. Not sure if this changed since then, but families/parents aren´t just 2 people in a lot of cases. So it would just make sense to open that up more.

I think maybe the movie you’re thinking about is Love, Rosie where she gets pregnant and plans to give the baby up for adoption and doesn’t want to get attached but holds the baby after she’s born and decides to keep her. I definitely think it’s the same type of situation. Brian agreed thinking for sure he wouldn’t want a kid and it was a guarantee but then Gus was born and he loved him and now it’s hard to let go despite what they discussed before. I easily see both sides and that’s the shitty part. Brian defended Mel at the hospital so he knows she’s just as deserving of rights to Gus but giving up his own rights is the hard part. Everything that happened with Justin’s father and then his own this episode definitely informed his decision. So we finally got a little bit more of who Brian really is and why by meeting his dad. Yay? You are so right, his demeanor with his dad compared to the way he is around literally everyone else is such a contrast it’s almost hard to watch. Him going to Michael for comfort was sweet. See thats the part of their friendship I adore. The one where you can see how well they know each other and take care of each other when they really need it.

Omg Emmett’s storyline! He and Ted sometimes get some weird ones but this one was fun. I enjoyed how out there it was. It was a little odd to see Emmett who I agree is the most secure and confident in himself wanting to be someone he’s not but hey if he wants to be someone else from time to time why not? It’s fun and harmless. Also your reaction to naked Melanie was everything lol

I'm not sure how it is now either and it's interesting you bring that up because there's a lot of things that get brought up here where I have to remember that it's 2000 and not 2023. Holy crap I just registered that this show is 23 years old LOL

Hmm it's not Love, Rosie because I'm fairly certain the movie I'm thinking of I actually reacted too and while I've seen Love, Rosie I've never reacted to it. It very well could be a show I'm thinking of too lol Regardless, it happens a lot in these situations!

So insane it’s that old! It’s interesting because parts of the show don’t age well but there are some that are still so insanely relevant like the issues they fight for throughout the series and it almost feels like it’s just airing now. So much change has happened but so much still has yet to be done it’s depressing.
