It´s definitely advertised as a musical. It´s tagged as one in Disney+ and most of the promotional material was pulled from that dream sequence, probably because it´s the most musical thing about the movie. I also think a series might have been better. I really like the characters and their dynamics, and would love to have more time for each of them. But kudos to Rueby Wood (Nate) he has done theater before, but this was his first real acting gig for a movie, and he did great. And while he did great, I´m still kinda shocked that they didn´t give any singing to Joshua Bassett, I know this wasn´t his story, but you don´t cast Joshua Bassett in a musical without utilizing his vocals. I´m also hoping for a sequel maybe. Disney seems to have confidence in Tim Federle, so I assume if he wants to make it they will let him do it. I have to say though, while Lilo&Stitch also isn´t anywhere near my top favourite movies, I kinda want a real broadway production of it now.

I found Joshua not singing to be surprising also, like they could've went all out with that Wicked car scene and it would've been awesome lol But maybe they couldn't because of copyright. Also, I loved the Stitch interactive ride at Disney, so maybe I should give it another watch lol

I'm just watching this reaction now. Not sure if you know this but I found out after watching the movie the first time, that apparently both original songs in this movie ("Big Time" and "No One Gets Left Behind") were actually written by Olivia Rodrigo, but she went by a stage name "Lyndie Lane" for an unknown reason.
