New Rules for Poll Suggestions- Explanation (Patreon)

I woke up this morning and felt like working on art and forgot about the request thread. RIP (I'll put the real thing up tomorrow or later. For real this time. I promise) Technically this is my day off anyway.

Regardless I wanted to take a moment to explain the next thing I'm going to try for how the poll requests will work.

For starters: The deferral system is officially being abandoned.

After this month's poll no new deferrals will be added to the queue; there simply ended up being too many and I decided that, as the number of people who want to participate increases, I needed to alter the system to create less additional bookkeeping while being as fair as possible.

I had several people tell me I should just lock it off to the higher pledges and be done with it, but I still want to create an opportunity for the lower tiers to participate, even if it is a smaller opportunity, so the new system will work as follows-

-Character request slots will be capped at 15 total and issued first-come, first-served, with preference given to the more expensive tiers. -

How this will work will be that, everyone will make requests and I'll fill the list with as many requests are issued by 10 dollar patrons first, followed by 5 dollar patrons, and then 3 dollar patrons will take any slots that are left over, up to 15.

EXAMPLE:
Total slots =15

4x $10 patrons make requests: they get the first 4 slots regardless of the order they requested in. 11 slots are left

6x $5 patrons make requests; they get the next six slots, regardless of order, 5 slots are left

8x $3 patrons request: They will fill the last 5 slots in order they posted request until all slots are filled.

Obviously this means the number of slots available to patrons is going to fluctuate from month to month. There could be months where there are no slots left to be filled by $3 patrons and we have $5 dollar patrons being pushed out on volume.

I realize this system will probably be more frustrating for some people, while making it harder for someone to work toward getting an honorable mention, but I'm hoping it will create a better balance for me and thus create more time for me to comfortably make art for ya'll.
