The Bad Batch 101 | FULL AKIMA Reactions (Patreon)

We just finished The Clone Wars (fantastic series!) and are excited to watch The Bad Batch! We heard this takes place after TCW and before Rebels (which we plan on watching after The Bad Batch).

I had preferred you guys have watched Rebels before the Bad Batch since this will spoil some minor things in Rebels. But that's okay :)

It’s interesting you guys are watching things in chronological order, since quite a few things that pop up in this show are in Rebels.

Just so you guys know only the first episode is a hour long. Every episode since, so far, has been 25ish minutes.

Rebels, you guys might want to watch Rebels and Bad Batch at same time and just do 1 of each a week.

First - only this episode was this long, the others are closer to the 20-25 minute marks so you should still do the 2x a week. Second - while I did want you guys to watch 'Star Wars Rebels' next it was only because I absolutely LOVE that series & can't wait for you ladies to (finally) experience it! Now, with that being said, I will say that I fully support & AGREE with your decision to select 'The Bad Batch' as the next Star Wars animated series following 'The Clone Wars'. The main criticism/reason given for why it was a, dare I say, 'bad' choice is 100% valid & it would've been better had you gone in to 'Rebels' blind but it's not even a guarantee that you will even remember or connect certain things when the time comes. The thing is, it's virtually impossible to experience any piece of Star Wars content without some kind of spoiler because they have done such a spectacular job connecting & building the Star Wars Universe (well Galaxy to be correct). The main reason I think it was the right call is the simple fact that you have made it a point from the very beginning (of 'TCW') that you would be watching that series in chronological order and 'TBB' is just a continuation from 'TCW'... the logo literally transitions from 'TCW' to 'TBB'! Another benefit is that you will have a better understanding of the various characters, plots & other elements of the show(s). If you had gone on release order you would have had to not finish 'TCW' as the final seasons were released years apart. This is how I see it, we just have to bang out the remaining 15 episodes of 'TBB' (there will be 16 total) which will take 7 & 1/2 weeks and then we get to start 'Rebels'... and revel in it, for it truly is incredible!

100% this! I personally wouldn't consider some of the elements of this episode as a minor spoiler for the future since we're going chronological. I haven't done the math on how long it would take for them to finish Rebels but if it happens to coincide with Bad Batch season 2 that's when they should do 1 Rebels/1 BB episode a week if that makes sense.

I wish they would’ve watched at least a few episode of Rebels before this. Would’ve had some good “ohhhhhhh” moments

They will STILL go "ohhhhhh" at those moments in rebels. It creates those moments in different ways watching Bad Batch first.
