Well something you may not know is that they didn't want to make this episode. Here is a link to a blog post that the actual creators wrote. (No spoilers of course) but its just once again Nickelodeon screwing over the creators with budget cuts. https://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/post/103173899927/a-few-preemptive-words-about-episode-408

Nickelodeon forced them to make this episode. Their budget kept getting cut and it was either fire people or create a clips episode. The was supposed to be a kuvira backstory episode

This is something you guys can hopefully discuss next episode, but you can blame Nickelodeon, not the showrunners, for why this was a recap episode. The showrunners wanted to do an episode that was supposedly gonna focus on Kuvira and why she's the way she is. But then their superiors at Nickelodeon cut their budget late into production and they lost a whole episode. The showrunners still had to produce 13 episodes for the season and the only real options they had were either do a recap episode or fire a significant amount of their crew members a few weeks too early. Obviously, the showrunners knew that doing the latter would be a pretty s****y thing to do, so they did the recap episode instead because they could save money since its mainly re-used animation. So don't get mad at the writers for this because they were given a bad hand and they needed to work with what they had
