Can’t wait to watch!

Sohail Jafar

I watched the 2018 sequel which was fantastic, but I’m gonna do a Star Wars and watch the first one after lol

I'm glad to see this as this film brings back so much nostalgia from my childhood. One of my favorite horror films for sure! This movie also has the rare fact of having two different direct sequels to it: Halloween 2 (1981) and Halloween (2018). I recommend both of them because they're both good scary movies but they just take the story in different directions, the 1981 sequel takes place immediately after the original ends, while the 2018 sequel takes place 40 years later. Also, the director John Carpenter, always does a good job with scary movies and two other movies he did are The Thing (1982) and Christine (1983). They're both ideal for this month!

Thought this was going to be the 2007 version lol

I LOVED this! This is one of my favorite top 5 horror films. The series is my favorite horror series and I fully don’t expect reactions for the whole series (there’s a lot). I don’t think everyone would be interested in continuing but I’d love it! Don’t expect it but I’d be so excited if that ever happened lol So much fun

DylanWirta94

I really don’t think they could handle that (everything from the gore, profanity and uncomfortable moments) lol But if they ever did any of the sequels that’d be a blast

DylanWirta94

Other classic iconic horror films like Nightmare on Elm Street, Child’s Play, Scream etc would be great reactions

Controversial opinion: I like the Rob Zombie Halloween remake. Not necessarily more than the original but I enjoy it just as much.

Never cared for the Halloween franchise, particularly the original film. I think the only one I enjoyed was 1998's Halloween: H2O.

Anonymous

I just realized this movie was 42 years old!!!! Never realized it because we still talk about it every year. That's how you know this is a true classic.

Sohail Jafar

That was a great reaction and I agree with Tom “lock the doors” lol. Please only watch the 2018 sequel after this :)

Halloween 2 is my favorite!

Absolutely love the 2018 sequel. I really hope they watch that one next, even if to only avoid all the confusion of the multiple timelines.

Justin S.

I actually wouldn't mind if they watched Halloween 2 (1981) first and then the 2018 sequel to compare and they can decide for themselves which one they like better. They don't have to watch anymore than that, of course.

Justin S.

You like some of John Carpenter's other work? I never really cared for the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, although it is quite popular. The 1984 original is allright but not terrific. Robert England was a good choice for the role, however.

Opti_Frog

This movie spawned the entire slasher subgenre, my least favourite type of horror. I'm a huge fan of John Carpenter's films, but Halloween never did it for me. However, this was a super fun reaction. I've never enjoyed this film as much as this time, watching it with you guys XD

Katie Bjordahl

avoid the rob zombie halloween movies they are outragously violent and gory.

I LOVED THIS REACTION SO MUCH!! You guys are the funniest :') I really hope you guys will consider watching Halloween II (1981) and Halloween (2018) the two very different but direct sequels to this first one. I also wouldn't mind it at all if you decide to watch the entire franchise lol. My other favorites, besides the ones I already mentioned, are Halloween 4 and Halloween: H2O! Love you guys <3

solilo

A bit different to the movies you've reacted to so far, but you should react to 12 Angry Men (1957).

Anonymous

hey, could you react to rocketman (2019) if possible? Think it would be a great choice

Erasmo

Hope mama rests well, and comes back soon.

matthew berry

ah man what a missed opportunity to watch mean girls for october 3rd which is mean girls day

Justin S.

I think The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) and Black Christmas (1974) are considered by many to be the first films in the slasher subgenre. The original Halloween was more of a slow burn than a slasher but yes, the series helped establish it for the long haul. Slasher films can entertaining sometimes if you are in right mindset for them, even the really cheesy ones. Terror Train, The Prowler, The Burning, My Bloody Valentine, Chopping Mall, some of the Friday the 13th series, and the Scream series are some of the better ones or the ones I enjoyed. But, many of the others were quite bad with terrible acting, writing, and directing. Definitely the weakest subgenre of horror overall.

Justin S.

I'm just hoping for the two direct sequels at some point. If somehow, by the slim chance there is, they decide to watch the entire franchise, they definitely should skip Halloween: Resurrection. That one never should have been made. But if they watch Halloween 6, they get see a young Paul Rudd ( Ant-Man).

Anonymous

Agreed, Resurrection was the worst in the series. I didn’t like Curse of Michael Myers at all either, but Paul Rudd is always fun to watch. I’m still hoping they’ll decide to watch the two sequels tl

To give a gist for Halloween: it is comprised of 11 films (with two new ones coming by next October). But the best way to watch them is by either; 1) HALLOWEEN/HALLOWEEN II/HALLOWEEN H20, as a sort-of "Laurie Strode Trilogy", or 2) HALLOWEEN (1978)/HALLOWEEN (2018). It's the best two suggestions I can think on how to properly watch this series cohesively. And I'd also maybe suggest Wes Craven's SCREAM (1996), which was a love letter of Halloween and slasher films in general.

Another great Halloween movie: Sleepy Hollow

Spooky requests for the Spooky Month: Interview with The Vampire 1994 The Craft 1996 The Exorcist III 1990 The Crow 1994 Session 9 - 2001 The Lost Boys 1987 The Thing 1982 (It's like Alien in Antarctica only with pretty relevant-to-today paranoia elements) Scream 1996 Friday the 13th, Part 6 (the first meta horror movie that influenced Kevin Williamson, writer of Scream and also the one Friday that IMO feels like a real movie with good humor in the writing and genuine fun characters that are not just fodder for Jason) Carrie 1976 Rabid 1977 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 The Others 2001

If y'all would like to watch horror movies that are more comedy-themed, then I'd suggest two Joe Dante films: THE 'BURBS from 1989 and stars Tom Hanks; and the GREMLINS films from 1984 and 1990. Joe Dante's films might initially scary at first, but they are mainly played up for laughs. ;D
