So, there has been a very clear winner for the most recent poll. With 70% of the votes, Start Again has won the poll. I've already begun plotting out a storyline, building up my backlog, and other boring writer stuff. I'm hoping that the story will be up before the end of the month.

Here's a brief summary for the rewrite: Nero finds himself standing at a crossroad with only a slip of paper for direction, and it's about as helpful as a fortune cookie -- Go left for greatness or go right for safety. Despite every self-preservation instinct screaming at him to go right, Nero finds himself going left towards Gotham city. And there he finds himself not just at the bottom rung of society, but he's straight-up underneath the ladder itself.

Penniless and homeless, Nero uses the resources available to him to carve out a pace in Gotham city to bring him to the first rung of the ladder. And once he reaches it, he's not going to stop until he reaches the top. Multi-billionaires, overpowered aliens, and actual gods be damned.

Now, onto the options for the Poll -- Much like with the previous iteration, I'm aiming for the story to be Quest-like, so your input is valued and can help influence the story. For this first choice, it will help shape which alignment Nero will lean towards.

Good Girls: Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan), Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), Tifa Lockheart (FF7)

Bad Girls: Felicia Hardy (Marvel), Neo (RWBY), Revy (Black Lagoon)

Definitely hope that you go “Evil” with the new Dragon story

Razorfloss razor

Here's hoping you don't go evil with the new story. I don't won't to read about generic evil dragon warlord #100. I would much rather prefer he be more grey then outright evil

DoctorTortoise

Yeah, there are more than enough 'evil' MCs out there, and it always makes for such boring characterizations. The only issue is that all of the 'good' girls in the poll kinda suck lol

Alexander Cullison

Maybe you should mark Tifa and Felicia as neutral. Both have training as a terrorist/thief, but become heroes at later points if their respective stories.

Denis Safiev

I'd rather it not be a story about another generic evil mc. Like we've nowadays reached a point where most overpowered SI characters are selfish asshats and it gets old fast. I like reading about overpowered protagonists kicking ass and getting all the girls as much as the next weeb, but some actual interesting personality that makes you empathize with them never hurt. Keyword is empathize. If the individual personality quirks are all just a unique brew of selfish jerk and egoist then it's even worse than no personality.

Benjamin Lawton

Honestly, I think True Neutral would be the better way to go. As it's described on TV Tropes: "not selfless enough to be Good, but not exploitative enough to be Evil; not rule-abiding enough to be Lawful, but not arbitrary enough to be Chaotic." Nero would do his own thing, and be consistent about it, but at the same time would not be adverse to helping a bloke out if it doesn't cost him anything.

Alex McGregor

No Hinata? I has a sad, she was literally the only thing that made this being set in DC palatable

foza

No hinata no ivy no harley no raven. Hmm

Varisis

I was originally interested in the story because as the title suggested it would be more about a stereotypical dragon type person rather than just another vanilla SI with superpowers.

Warden

I’m hoping you go for the more “lovable bandit/morally decent” route over the “evil dragon overlord who kicks over homeless ppl” route but I think you could make it interesting either way.

Benjamin Lawton

I'm hoping for something very vaguely along the same lines as Going Native – Nero's memory of human morals coming mildly into conflict with his new instincts as a dragon, and trying to reconcile the two. One of the reasons I suggested possibly going the Gargoyles route, over on QQ – distinctly non-human values, but not so alien that they're incomprehensible from a human's perspective.

Mkaius

I’m kind of surprised Felicia isn’t winning. Starting out as a rogue with your very own sexy Thief? Cat fights between her and Catwoman? Here is hoping there is a surge of votes for her. :p

Ahtu Nyarlathotep

Isn't Tifa way too hands-off in her approach? Not to mention way too stuck in the past, and stuck on Cloud. She would pretty much force the MC into the role of being treated as a child. On that note, I'd also appreciate if you told us what version, and what point in time you would take Felicia from.

IdeasGuy

Tifa would be taken from before the start of the game. So, she'll be a powerful martial artist but she won't have access to any materia. In terms of personality, she's altruistic and she's driven enough to join a terrorist organization, but struggles when civilian casualties become a thing. So, I wouldn't exactly call her passive. Felicia will be taken towards the start of her career. She was still trained by a master thief, so she's one of the best, but she won't have made her legend.

Xiosdestro

So hes still going to be a dragon right? Just no flames of destruction/creation? Sounds like a nerf to me.. and nerfs are lame

LandWhale

I’m pretty sure it’s still the same powers, just with a different starter girl, in a more violent city, and a more ‘aggressive’ mc

Highfist

got to disagree i would much rather have an "evil" mc i find those Macs way better the the "heroes"
