Billing survey (Patreon)

Patreon since a month ago offers a new feature where creators can charge their patreons at the beginning of the month and not at the end of the month. What does this mean? That new patrons would have to pay immediately after subscribing. As for the old ones, they would pay the month 'in advance', instead of at the end of the month. So that all patrons would be able to rely on:

1) Receiving the promised rewards.

2) New patrons would not be able to make use of the one-month courtesy period to enjoy the benefits. This period can be used in a positive way to see what the creator offers or, on the contrary, in an abusive way not to pay for the services offered (quite common practice).

This change is permanent and we will not be able to revoke it, so we prefer to ask you. For us, early payment is generally more of an advantage than a disadvantage. Especially since we can limit fraudulent accounts that misuse the courtesy period.But, anyway, it isn't something that will radically change the way we operate, so if it's more of a disadvantage than an advantage for you, we don't see any disadvantage in keeping it as it is. Please let us know what you think and if you see any reason to keep the billing as it is. Perhaps there is something we've missed and haven't considered.

If there is either a positive or an indifferent majority, we would make the billing change. But if, on the contrary, the majority is negative, we would keep it the same. In any case, this will happen (or not) in the next month, December.

Patreon desde hace un mes ofrece una nueva funcionalidad donde los creadores podemos cobrar a nuestros patreons a primeros de mes y no a finales. ¿Qué quiere decir esto? Que los nuevos patrocinadores tendrían que pagar inmediatamente después de suscribirse. En cuanto a los antiguos, que pagarían el mes por 'adelantado', en vez de a mes vencido. De tal manera que todos los mecenas confiarían en:

1) Recibir los rewards prometidos.

2) Los nuevos mecenas no podrían hacer uso del plazo de cortesía de un mes para disfrutar de las ventajas. Este plazo se puede usar de forma positiva para ver lo que el creador ofrece o, al contrario, de forma abusiva para no pagar por los servicios ofrecidos (práctica bastante habitual).

Este cambio es permanente y no podremos revocarlo, por eso, preferimos preguntaros a vosotros. Para nosotras, cobrar antes, en general, supone más una ventaja que una desventaja. Sobre todo, al poder limitar las cuentas fraudulentas que hacen un mal uso del plazo de cortesía. Pero, igualmente, no es algo que nos cambie de forma radical nuestro funcionamiento, así que si para vosotros supone más una desventaja que una ventaja no vemos ningún inconveniente en mantenerlo como está. Por favor, decidnos qué es lo que pensáis y si veis algún motivo por el que mantener la facturación como está. Tal vez haya algo que se nos haya pasado y no hemos contemplado.

Tanto si hay una mayoría positiva como indiferente, haríamos el cambio de facturación. Pero, si por el contrario, la mayoría es negativa, la mantendríamos igual. En cualquier caso, esto sucederá (o no) en el mes próximo, es decir, diciembre.
