Rather large file this time but wanted to follow up on my last post. Couldn't contain myself so I went ahead and did all 3 pages. The changes were less noticeable in page 3 because I was starting to see some issue so I lightened things up with gradients in the end. This time though I had more of a plan as to how I was going to do it so features came out a little cleaner in some areas. I guess this is about as final as a comparison can get so let me know if you prefer the lighter tones on top or if I should keep with the darker tones like on the bottom.

I suppose in some cases the differences are rather minor but I have broken it down into a system that uses black, white, 2 light shades of grey and then a single multiply layer on top using the darker grey value. I could have likely just continued as is and saved myself the time today but I'd really like to see what everyone likes better as a standard as I plan to do much more of this type of comic moving into the future.

Unfortunately I am not sure how much help I can be here. I am not an artist, and while I can certainly see the difference in the two versions, I am unable to really tell which is better. The end result in both cases looks great to me. There is perhaps a bit more contrast in the darker version but, in the end they both look great to me.

I personally like the darker shade more.

I personally don't mind either of them but like I said the shadows in the lighter one make it look a lot better. I mean, just look at the first panel in the third page, Katie barley has any shadows on her and in the lighter one she has more which makes it a lot better in my opinion.

John doh

Yeah, gotta go with the darker ones.

I like the lighter ones.
