tl;dr: I've decided I will in fact be pulling back my time here on Patreon. I will be using this as a tipping platform where in return I will be doing only one monthly update. I have reduced tier rewards according to this change, although tiers will not be deleted unless patronage of a tier reaches zero, since doing so can cause complications.

NOW THE LONG VERSION:

So the time has come for me to make a concrete decision about my future, at least for so long as the decision can hold. I've decided I will in fact be reducing my activity here on Patreon. For reasons I previously discussed here, I do not feel comfortable closing my Patreon page entirely, so I will be dropping it down to a single monthly update simply to keep this page active. I have also changed my tier rewards to reflect this, where all future content will be available to all tippers. I had considered making all posts free immediately, but Patreon requires keeping NSFW posts locked behind patronage, which is what's always excluded me from using the early access feature of this platform.

Updates here will continue to be Star vs. the Forces of Evil illustrations and one-shots. This will also help keep me in practice with the style in case I need to return to Patreon and start another long form comic in the near future, or in case I simply decide to do monthly updating shorter comics. As for now though I will not be promising anything requiring a commitment here.

As stated before, the biggest factor in this decision is that I simply want to invest my time into other things that are not viable for Patreon. I still believe Patreon is a great platform, despite the bad reputation they've received for enforcing their payment partner policies. Despite many undesired outcomes, Patreon has always been very helpful and understanding with me. Without Patreon playing strictly under the rules of the payment systems to maintain a stable platform, I'm sure I and many other content creators would not be here today. Patreon enabled people to become independently successful doing things I could hardly dream of being sustainable just 10 years ago.

However, after the years of support I have received from all of you, I am in a much more comfortable position to no longer feel the same sense of reliance towards Patreon. Alternatives exist, and while I still don't believe there are any as stable as Patreon without following the same rules, I'd like to utilize other options while they exist. If this proves unsustainable at any point I can simply come back here without sweat and start a new project.

With this decision I'm sure I'll lose many of my supporters here, but I want you all to know that I appreciate all of the support I've received until now and into the future. I know many of you have asked, or will ask, that I direct you to where I am reinvesting my time into, but sadly I cannot do so. Please do not ask in the comments, nor try to direct people in the comments on my behalf. Patreon requires I not only be extremely careful with the type of content I publish, but also where I can link or direct people to, as well as making sure I moderate users that may also infringe on these rules. This constant treading on egg shells is exactly why I want to invest my time elsewhere, but I can't stop treading lightly if I want to keep this page active as a backup for the future.

This is a completely understandable decision. I hope you find success with whatever platform you decide to go to. For personal reasons, I'll be removing myself from Patreon as well. Hope I'll be able to find your work when I'm in a place where I can support artists again.

Much as it sucks to hear im happy for you, do what you feel is right. Hopefully i come across wherever you end up and can continue to support you in your fullest, thank you for your time on the platform and i look forward to the monthlys in the meantime. I wish you all the best

Dagoron

Good luck moving forward man! I know this was a hefty decision to make and am glad you can finally move forward. I'll continue to support the great work you do as best I can no matter what!

I hate to see you leave here and would follow you and your work whenever I can find it. Can I ask if you’ll keep your name the same, so that *research independent of Patreon* might lead someone to you? Best of luck!

I'm as sorry about your decision as anyone. I understand it, and will continue to support you here at the same level. It's the least I can do to help finance your work. I enjoy your art too much to want to cheat you out of a few bucks. Some of your work appears on other sites frequently. Perhaps one of those who posts on those sites can tell us there where you can be found. Is that subtle enough?

It will be alright!!! Now I won't as for pusi but cunny 😋

I get it. I don't like it, but I get it. Won't change my support for you either here or elsewhere, but I understand. :)

RevyTwoHand

Well this wasn't the only place. So I'll just go there and support you. 8-)

Ok, well, I think it's good that you reported the changes in your life at the moment, I hope you made the right decision regarding Patreon

When that day comes, please let me know where you are going

You also have my support and I already told you how I think about it

@Joseph Tome : I'm glad you like my stuff, and appreciate the support, although sadly I'll have to delete your comment due to mentioning a title that is not allowed to be discussed here.

@PRS3245 : I've already reduced the pledges down, although technically I will not be implementing the changes until next month. I simply wanted the pledges changed preemptively for any newcomers that might see them this month and not be aware of the decision. I also want current patrons able to see what they will be for next month. I'm glad you like my stuff and appreciate the support, however, I will be deleting your message since it mentions a platform that cannot be discussed or directed to here in relation to my work.

@Scott Felson : Glad you like my work, and I appreciate the support, however I will have to delete your comment since it mentions titles that may not be discussed here.

Yes, it is fine to discuss with people on other platforms or services not associated with this Patreon, or any platforms or services I have linked to Patreon.

incognitymous

I have no plans to use a different name, although if I ever did I would not be able to mention what it is here unless it was associated solely with Patreon permitted content.

Does this mean you will be making more content at unsaid location?

Will there be other place for source clip files then ?

incognitymous

As of now I don't have any plans. It's very difficult to find a place to host many large files that would not be permitted on mainstream platforms like Pareon.

incognitymous

Yes. I am stepping down from Patreon not to work less, but to dedicate my time elsewhere.
