Currently sitting at the airport after hearing my flight has been delayed. It's okay, there are worse things. In the next week, I'll be doing at least two new self portrait sets, I'm meeting Keira Grant, Mona - moniqueposes, Laureen Matt from France, Mayafaun (if I can figure out my crazy schedule), and perhaps Brittany Markert too. Shooting may or may not take place, but I'm excited nonetheless. And this is in addition to many shoots for other photographers. Now I just need to get there. And I really like the above photo from the set I spontaneously ended up doing yesterday (I don't mean to sound egotistical at all. I just kinda like this one). It's a bit more erotic than what I'm used to. I had a discussion with Polasquare, and I've had these sorts of discussions with Diana Schenkel as well, that I do erotic content even if I don't post that I do and won't generally accept erotic shoots. I find myself commonly needing to explain to people that I don't do erotic content, and by most standards and photo examples, I most likely don't. But, I think context and presentation matter more to me when it comes to erotic content than that there is some eroticism present. I once listed in my portfolio that I did erotic content - I was thinking it meant something like the photo above, or more intimate portrait work, or sensual feeling conveyed through expression in a photo. When I was subsequently bombarded with requests concerning genitalia shots, I had to quickly take it off the list of genres that I do. But really, I don't find those shots to be erotic. Of course, the definition of eroticism is fluid and depends on a lot of factors - cultural, personal taste, etc.. There's seems to be, for many, some synonymous relationship between erotic content and pornography. For me, I've always felt that eroticism implied some sort of mystery or that is was a bit more artful - I wouldn't characterize a shot of an anus as erotic as much as medical or a shot of a vagina as erotic as much as gynecological. Perhaps this is simply my personal taste though. I'm going to stop rambling now...this is what happens when you have a delayed flight. You begin ruminating on who came up with the idea that gynecology shots are erotic art and why do people ask me if I'll stick rose stems in my bodily orifices? At least pick a flower with a stem that wasn't once covered in thorns...

I think I would be less interested in your photography if you were sticking things, like roses, up your butt. I wouldn't be offended if your vulva appeared in one of your photos either. Like you say, it's a fluid thing and depends on context and setting.

Yes, it depends on context. As it is, I don't know if the amount of body hair I have even really allows for overtly explicit shots most of the time.

Fascinating and beautifully done image... Yes, erotic - that elusive definition...

Thank you...the definition is so fluid and dependent on so many factors, I think that's why shooting it is complicated. I think deciding to let people shoot erotic content of me is even more complicated - which is why I always state publicly that I don't do it at all.
