Chapter 365: Kendia Desert

The title of the book included the words "Sun Bath," but the sun in the Kendia Desert was far from gentle enough to enjoy. It was a harsh environment where survival itself was a huge challenge.

For thousands of years, humans have created countless kingdoms in the Kendia Desert, building a prosperous and powerful scene. To this day, human kingdoms still exist on the yellow sands, but they are no longer as flourishing as they once were.

Humans are highly adaptable creatures, but in the world of hunters, there are far more adaptable creatures than humans.

As oases formed by underground rivers became fewer, the living environment also became increasingly difficult.

However, there was a group of dangerous creatures that continued to adapt and thrive. As the human population gradually decreased, their numbers increased.

The world is vast, and there are many places to go, but people who have lived in the Kendia Desert for generations never thought of leaving.

Today, the Kendia Desert, as the largest desert in the world, is one of the most inhospitable places for living creatures and also the desert with the most populations and countries.

The yellow sands stretch for thousands of miles, with deep red rocky mountains standing lonely above the sands. When the wind rises, the yellow sand flies all over the sky.

An armored bull ran on the yellow sands, kicking up a long sand dragon.

The armored bull is a land creature with extremely strong endurance, resistant to thirst, heat, and cold.

It is very different from ordinary cattle, with five stomachs, four of which can store a lot of water. It has no sharp horns on its head, but thick hard skin from its forehead to its neck, like armor, hence the name.

Armored bulls are domesticated by people living in the Kendia Desert and are indispensable companions for traveling in the desert.

Luo and his companions rode on a sand sled pulled by an armored bull, heading towards the vast and endless front.

They had been in the desert for three days, seeing scorpions the size of three-story houses, sand worms ten meters long, walking cacti, and sandstorms that covered the sky, but they had not seen a single person.

"Linne, how much longer to Elba Oasis?"

Luo rode on the broad back of the armored bull, first glancing at Buhara, who was lying listlessly on the sand sled, and then looking at Linne, who was resting with his eyes closed.

Hearing Luo's words, Linne opened his eyes slightly and said, "If nothing goes wrong, we should arrive by the evening after tomorrow."

Luo nodded upon hearing this and looked ahead.

There was a half-wooden cover on the sand sled, which he had modified with God's Hand before departure. It could block the harsh sunlight to some extent, but it couldn't isolate the heat.

The water they brought before departure was almost running out, which was why Buhara was listless, and Linne, being older, was also suffering but didn't show it like Buhara.

"Two days, huh?"

Luo looked at the distant sand dunes and scattered rocky mountains. With the current amount of water, it was impossible to last until the day after tomorrow.

One thing Luo knew very well was that on the way to Elba Oasis, it was impossible to encounter any oases.

Now, the Kendia Desert had only three large oases and one small oasis in the Red Rock Canyon.

On the three large oases stood three countries, one of which was Elba Oasis, while the small oasis in the Red Rock Canyon was occupied by brutal and cold-blooded sand thieves.

Oases are the source of life in the desert, and Kendia Desert, the largest desert in the world, had only four oases. This was a harsh reality.

In other words, before reaching Elba Oasis, Luo and his team had no oases to replenish their water supply.

Generally, a small team like Luo's, consisting of three people, should bring at least two armored bulls on a trip. With only one, their resources were insufficient to sustain them to the end.

The fact proved that the resources carried by one armored bull were indeed not enough for them, but they brought only one because Linne requested it, perhaps to increase the difficulty.

"If we could encounter a dancing cactus, that would be great. If not, any creature would do."

Luo thought silently, taking the leather water bag hanging from his waist and throwing it to Buhara.

The slightly flat water bag landed on Buhara's stomach, bounced a few times, and made a pleasant water sound.

Buhara opened his eyes abruptly, grabbed the water bag, pulled out the stopper at lightning speed, and gulped down the remaining water, then let out a satisfied sigh.

"Revived!"

Buhara sat up slightly, suddenly energized.

"Linne's water is off-limits. That bag was the last of our water," Luo said, glancing at Buhara, who seemed full of energy.

"After drinking the water given by the boss, I feel I can hold out for at least three hours!" Buhara said seriously.

Luo smiled and said, "That's best."

An hour later, Buhara was lying dead.

What about the three hours?

Luo rubbed his forehead, constantly watching the surroundings. If any creature appeared in his sight, he would jump out of the sled to capture it immediately. If luck was too bad, they would be in danger.

Looking back at Linne, who was still resting with his eyes closed, Luo felt she didn't seem worried at all. In this environment, if they ran out of water, even the strongest nen user couldn't survive.

Time passed, and half an hour later, Luo's body began to dehydrate.

It was now two-thirty in the afternoon, and there were still four hours until sunset.

"We're in trouble."

Luo frowned slightly. The only water left in the cart was the half bag of water beside Linne, which was their last source of water and absolutely untouchable.

According to Linne's book, the best source of water in the Kendia Desert was the dancing cactus, but their luck was terrible. They hadn't encountered a second one since seeing one shortly after departure.

At this moment, a dust cloud rose ahead.

Luo stared at the dust cloud, a trace of joy flashing in his eyes. It was caused by an armored bull running.

"Finally, we've encountered someone."

A moment later, as the dust cloud got closer, Luo saw the approaching people.

There were five armored bulls in total, each carrying a person. Every person wore a yellow headscarf, had a full black beard, dark skin, and held a two-meter-long machete.

Luo touched a spot on the armored bull's neck, slowing it down and stopping it.

The five approaching armored bulls showed no sign of slowing down, galloping furiously.

When the distance between the two sides was less than three hundred meters, the five people on the armored bulls each took out a stone crossbow and shot five arrows towards Luo's position.

The sound of breaking air rang out; they attacked without a greeting.

A trace of coldness flashed in Luo's eyes as he used nen to easily stop the five arrows. The arrowheads, made of stone, were coated with poison.

This discovery made Luo's eyes even colder.

Meanwhile, Linne, sitting on the sand sled, slightly opened her eyes.
