Chapter 341: Infiltration

Taking a small mast ship to Devil Island, it's not certain if we can safely arrive, and it takes at least ten days to get there.

The sailing speed is slow, even tedious, making the journey monotonous. Ging took this dull voyage as an opportunity to talk to Luo, revealing everything he knew without reservation.

From Ging's words, it was clear that the focus was on the remnants of the old Seiren Squad, a troubling issue. The exact number of these remnants is unknown, but it is certain that they hold high positions in the country, as deduced from some signs.

Netero probably couldn't identify who these high-ranking remnants were, and Luo's actions on the island couldn't be hidden from them, which posed a massive problem.

Ging didn't reveal these matters to Luo because he wanted to solve this potential problem for him without his knowledge.

However, from the intelligence Ging had, as long as the other party remained patient and didn't reveal any flaws, Netero wouldn't be able to identify their identity.

This unidentified remnant was like a time bomb, not threatening the association but could secretly target Luo and those he knew.

The extreme revenge mentality could be seen from the Devil Island incident.

"High positions, huh..." Luo pinched his chin and said, "Quite troublesome."

Having been in the world of Hunters for a long time, Luo had a good understanding of the necessary things. Overall, the five major countries were giants standing in the world, and the energy a high-ranking official could wield was not to be underestimated.

"Indeed, very troublesome."

Ging looked gleeful. The freedom of hunters manifested in many ways. The things he was doing and the things he planned to do in the future were somewhat connected to countries, so he couldn't confront them directly.

Although it was unclear what level the remnant's position was, using the state's machinery could lead to many means.

Just thinking about it made Ging's scalp tingle; it could be as troublesome as possible.

For instance, obtaining the right to repair relics required state approval, and the sale and certification of Greed Island also needed relevant department approvals.

Luo looked at Ging's unabashed glee and shook his head slightly, feeling helpless.

He considered the remnant a potential trouble but didn't take it too seriously. If the other party made a move against him, he would counter it. If it involved many state affairs or even politics, he wouldn't fear it either.

As long as he had God's Hand, even obtaining permission to go to the Dark Continent wouldn't be impossible. There was no need to fear the high-ranking remnant of the old Seiren Squad.

"Come out."

After thinking things through, Luo no longer dwelled on it and called out the black cat.

Hearing Luo's call, the black cat jumped out from the tattoo.

"This is your Nen beast?" Ging looked at the black cat.

"Yes."

Luo responded, "Fishing, the usual, fifty-fifty split."

"OK."

Without Luo reminding, the black cat ran to find the other end of the fishing line.

Under Ging's surprised gaze, Luo and the black cat started a unique fishing game.

Interesting...

Ging smiled slightly, sitting next to Luo, seemingly confident about the direction of the mast ship's sailing, without even needing to watch it.

Twelve days later, the mast ship entered the outer waters of Devil Island.

Perhaps blessed by the sea god, the journey was smooth and without storms.

After reaching the outer waters of Devil Island, Ging took down the sails and the rudder, stopping the mast ship on the sea, then took out a chart and a compass to confirm their position.

"To be safe, we should take a detour." Ging looked down at the chart.

Devil Island was now under state control, and in a safe range of waters, outsiders were strictly prohibited. However, completely encircling Devil Island would require a terrifying amount of manpower and resources.

Before fully controlling Devil Island, Ging didn't think the state would put too many resources into the outer defenses. Moreover, the two major troubles on the island weren't easy to handle, always leaving gaps to sneak through.

After discussing with Luo about the approximate location of the relic, they determined the landing point, choosing the opposite direction of Devil Island's port, which could be considered the backside of the island.

Once the direction was set, the mast ship switched to rowing, circling most of the outer waters of Devil Island before slowly heading in, not too fast, to ensure they could notice the state's warships first.

The reason Ging used an old mast ship was to avoid the state's warship radar. Proper ships with complete electronic equipment had to be registered, which were factors easily traced.

The small mast ship lacked the ability for long-distance navigation but had the advantage of being hard to detect.

Ging and Luo overcame the shortcomings to reach Devil Island, now using the advantages to successfully infiltrate.

The sneaking onto the island went smoothly, avoiding detection, reaching the back of Devil Island.

The layers of outward-bursting stone spikes on Devil Island couldn't stop Luo and Ging.

The two leaped from the boat, landing on one of the spikes.

Luo raised his hand to call out the black cat, "Put away the boat."

"If it gets digested by accident, don't blame me."

The black cat pouted, then floated to the mast ship, its mouth suddenly expanding, swallowing the ship into an unknown space before floating back to Luo, not immediately returning to the tattoo.

"A convenient ability," Ging praised, watching the black cat with interest.

After nearly half a month together, Ging had a deeper understanding of Luo's abilities. He found the black cat's abilities as a Nen beast truly extraordinary.

Luo thought that Ging only saw the black cat's abilities without knowing its restrictions. Naturally, he would praise it endlessly. He wasn't bored enough to deliberately point this out to refute Ging's praise.

With the boat stored, the two had no worries and began climbing the stone spikes.

Reaching the top, they looked out to see a faint green smoke permeating every corner within sight. Large trees were withered, fallen on the ground, entwined with numerous bones.

Even the outskirts carried a strong sense of death from the scene before them.

"A familiar yet unpleasant sight," Ging said calmly, the scene reminding him directly of a large-scale biochemical weapon ravaging through.

"Let's go, and don't stray too far from me."

Luo said, then leaped down from the top of the stone spike.

He created an air membrane around Ging, helping him resist the green smoke, avoiding the need for bulky protective suits.

Ging also leaped down, following closely behind Luo.

At the same time, at the front port of Devil Island.

Warships anchored slightly offshore, forming a fan-shaped formation facing the port.

There, a giant grotesque monster sat still, its body covered with dense human limbs, looking both hideous and disgusting.

The military had attempted many attacks but to no avail. With another threat on the island yet to reveal itself, the warships only monitored the grotesque monster, while special forces infiltrated from other directions to gather information.
