Chapter 572: Space Travel and Time Dilation Effects!

The Divine Body of the Moon?

Upon hearing Victorio's explanation, Lynn's expression turned peculiar, indeed bold to use a divine body as a power source!

Victorio also wore a helpless look, having previously tried using high-purity magic crystal as energy, only to calculate that even a ton of magic stone reserves wouldn't move the spacecraft a kilometer! Given its massive size, comparable to a fortress or even a small city, and its weight reaching hundreds of thousands of tons due to special materials, the energy required to drive it could only be described as terrifying!

The only thing that met the requirements was the moon soil they had previously excavated for research, which had an incredibly high magical density, hundreds of times purer than the highest purity magic stone! At this, Victorio cautiously looked at Lynn, somewhat worried that this might upset him, especially since Lynn, now also having ascended to a divine realm in his magical prowess, could view this as an act of sacrilege!

However, Lynn seemed unconcerned, viewing gods merely as higher-dimensional life forms, powerful on a planetary or galactic scale but insignificant in the broader cosmos.

The fall of the Moon Goddess Diana was a cautionary tale! Thus, Lynn, while surprised at Victorio's audacity, quickly discussed with him the composition of the divine body made of moon soil.

Similar to Earth's moon, the ten tons of moon soil they brought back were rich in silicon, aluminum, potassium, barium, lithium, helium-3, neon-2, and neon-22, rare elements imbued with vast magical power! The eternal star’s gravitational pull could cause magical tides just like the moon's rotation.

"Have you already conducted experiments? How fast can it go with the curvature engine?" Lynn asked curiously.

"The spacecraft’s test flight hasn’t been done yet, but our model experiments have been successful!" Victorio declared confidently, having produced a smaller version of the spacecraft and conducted preliminary experiments without any issues.

Model? That doesn’t sound reliable... Lynn raised an eyebrow but said nothing, confident there wouldn’t be any serious mishaps with him around.

Victorio then turned and addressed the gathering of grand wizards. "Get to work, everyone, perform the final checks and then start up the spacecraft!"

Raphael, Jeffrey, Alade, and others immediately began the final inspections.

For seven months, everyone had prepared for this moment, hoping not to waste all their efforts over a minor oversight.

"Charging complete, the forward curvature drive device is all normal…"

"Electromagnetic field detector activated!"

"Path planning complete, all obstacles avoided…"

A series of reports followed, and with everything prepared in advance, this check was merely a formality!

Harof, Aurora, and Anthony were all present, not wanting to miss this historic moment.

Victorio, brimming with spirit, stood at the control console, extending his domain to every corner of the spacecraft.

This was his method of controlling the spacecraft, using a wizard’s domain to manipulate every atom inside! The spacecraft’s doors quickly closed, and the hull gradually sealed without a gap. The disk-shaped spacecraft, weighing hundreds of thousands of tons, then began to rise amidst intense vibrations!

This was the anti-gravity device etched at the bottom of the spacecraft.

Victorio then spoke again.

"Start the nuclear propulsion engine!"

Dennis solemnly took out two transparent spheres, each half a meter in diameter, and placed them in the bottom chamber.

Harof and others watched nervously, knowing these spheres contained deuterium and tritium!

They all knew Victorio was bold, even having a hand in some of the propulsion device's construction, but they hadn’t expected him to use this powerful weapon right away.

This wasn’t about converting nuclear energy to electricity for propulsion; it was about using nuclear explosions to generate thrust to move the unimaginably heavy spacecraft!

Had they not discovered during their research on the spacecraft’s weapon system that a special metal coating could withstand terrifying temperatures and pressures, they wouldn’t have dared to attempt this.

In an instant, the entire spacecraft seemed to shudder as the two hydrogen bombs were deployed!

Fierce fire and light erupted within the combustion chamber of the spacecraft, the formidable force causing many grand wizards present to tremble in fear, as they were only a few hundred meters from the hydrogen explosion. If the chamber couldn’t withstand the explosion's terrible force, the energy wave from the hydrogen bomb could instantly tear them apart!

Fortunately, the alien civilization's technology proved reliable; a mere hydrogen explosion wasn’t enough to break it, especially since the combustion chamber was one of the strongest parts!

Raphael and others wiped the sweat from their foreheads, even as Victorio and Dennis quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Although they had tested before, they still weren’t completely sure!

Very creative... Lynn, having witnessed the entire startup process, was somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected Victorio to choose to use the legendary spell "End

game - Atomic Breath" to generate powerful thrust to propel the spacecraft forward…

After completing the most dangerous part, the spacecraft officially began to move. Two nozzles at the rear immediately emitted intensely hot energy beams, stretching kilometers long! The spacecraft, powered by fusion, swiftly soared into the sky, its massive weight combined with extreme speed creating a sonic boom that further ravaged the already battered ground!

In just a few seconds, the spacecraft’s speed had increased to over five times the speed of sound and was still rapidly climbing… A strong sonic barrier formed on the surface of the disk, enveloping it in clouds.

This was also because Victorio and others had etched wind-resistant magic on the outer shell; otherwise, the damage would have been several times more severe!

A large screen soon appeared before everyone, displaying the outside scenery. This was Aurora’s developed light projection magic, replacing display devices, allowing them to see the outside directly from within!

However, everything in the view was obscured by the sonic barrier, turning into a vast expanse of white and then pitch black, indicating the spacecraft had broken free from the planet’s atmosphere.

In just a minute or two!

For Raphael and others, this speed was almost unimaginable!

However, this was just the beginning. After completely leaving the planet's atmosphere, Victorio solemnly activated the curvature engine device!

The moon soil in the central alchemical array began to peel off layer by layer, transforming into a massive amount of magic. The front of the spacecraft twisted like ripples, eventually forming a circular space indentation…

The spacecraft then accelerated at an incredibly terrifying rate.

Those inside, like Raphael, could only watch as the moon soil in the array rapidly depleted, yet could not perceive any increase in speed, because it was too smooth, so smooth that they felt no fluctuations at all.

"Are we really accelerating?" Alade asked, puzzled.

"Of course, just look there!" Aurora pointed at a small dot on the light screen.

That was... the moon! They were passing this satellite at an incredibly fast pace. Alade watched in shock as the moon, from a barely perceptible tiny speck, grew into a vast object and then shrank rapidly within two seconds, disappearing from their view.

How fast was this speed?! The gathered grand wizards were astounded, their computational abilities strong yet unable to find a reliable reference point!

"We’ll know once we reach the Brown Star," Victorio responded.

This was their destination, the farthest planet from the sun in the star system... According to the wizards studying astronomy, the distance between the two planets at this point in their orbits was about one billion kilometers! Even at the speed of light, it would take about 3,300 seconds!

That's about an hour! The atomic clock's time scale ticked by as everyone stared intently at the screen above.

During a long period of dark travel, another massive planet appeared and disappeared from their view. Raphael recognized this planet as the second furthest in their planned trajectory.

This meant they were getting close to the Brown Star! Just as Raphael had anticipated, the massive brown planet was already in sight, and they were approaching it at an extremely fast pace.

"Time... check the time!" Victorio exclaimed excitedly.

"It’s two hours, seven minutes, and thirty-six seconds!" Dennis joyfully clapped his hands, his words filled with disbelief.

This meant the spacecraft's cruising speed had reached half the speed of light!

Harof, Aurora, and Anthony’s faces were filled with disbelief; they had actually managed to increase their speed to such a terrifying extent.

Raphael and others were equally excited; half the speed of light, 150,000 kilometers per second, twice around the eternal star!

Lynn, seeing everyone’s excitement subside, smiled and spoke. “Looking at this clock is useless; we need to return to the eternal star to see what their clocks say to know the real speed!”

Based on the time dilation effect, their time was not accurate, but by his estimates, this speed was certainly not slow!

Keep in mind, this was just the first-generation engine; there was still much room for optimization!

With Lynn’s reminder, the gathered wizards gradually calmed down, recalling the quantum theory of time dilation. Although this star of magic had proven his theories accurate, the difference in time flow caused by speed still left many puzzled.

Does the clock really slow down?
