Chapter 571: The First Generation Divine Power Curvature Spaceship!
"Make a movie?"
Upon receiving the summon from the council, Glenn and Rol hurried over, and the unfamiliar term they heard immediately made them look at Lynn with puzzled expressions.
"Exactly, a movie is like a series of connected, three-dimensional photographs!" Lynn explained succinctly.
Glenn was particularly fascinated by this concept. Ever since he developed optical photography, he had been obsessed with taking photos.
Given that elements wandering in the void constantly shift positions, true time reversal, as Lynn proposed in his quantum theories, is nearly impossible.
But photography can permanently capture moments as they occur!
Now, his invented cameras were a sensation across the entire kingdom, having sold hundreds of thousands of units. The limitation to entering every household was not the high cost, but rather the production capacity, which could not meet the demand no matter how much it was increased!
Lately, Glenn was contemplating how to further increase production and reduce the selling price. However, after Lynn briefly described the video magic developed by Aurora, Glenn felt both excited and concerned.
Excited because this magic could directly record events over a certain period using magical power, concerned because this projection technique was much more convenient than his photography, and it also had the potential to become widespread.
Rol was simply delighted. As a newsman, he was very aware of the value of this magic.
"Do you mean we need to record something specific for this movie? Could it be the spaceship brought back from the moon?" Glenn immediately thought of this and looked at Lynn expectantly.
Documenting a significant and memorable event was indeed the original intention behind developing photography technology.
A few months ago, when the council moved the massive spaceship from the moon, it sparked a heated debate.
Although many saw it, filming and photography were not allowed, and the council did not provide any explanations. They even released misleading information, leading the kingdom's citizens to believe that it was a flying city of magic created by the wizards.
Even some official wizards believed this news!
Of course, Glenn, who was on good terms with Rol, the editor of the Magic Daily, knew some inside information and didn't believe those false rumors.
"No, it has nothing to do with that spaceship. Making a movie can be compared to an opera, but it's more upscale!" Lynn briefly described the concept of acting.
Their task was to devise a story, perform it, and record it with magic, then distribute it throughout the kingdom for playback.
"Isn't that just propaganda?" Glenn blurted out, immediately realizing he had spoken too bluntly and quickly shut up.
Rol coughed lightly and quickly corrected him. "It's more about re-enacting reality with some reasonable modifications and enhancements..."
Lynn nodded at Rol, explaining that the content of the movies would vary.
The first type was to dispel the influence of the Church and the Empire still lingering in the citizens' minds.
For example, how the Church used faith to fool the people, claiming that entering heaven was actually becoming a reserve energy source for Aila, or how the Empire's nobles brutally oppressed and exploited the commoners.
The Wizard Council had only governed the kingdom for a few years, while the Church and the Empire had controlled it for nearly a thousand years before. Lynn was well aware that despite suppressing most conflicts with absolute military power and abundant supplies, there were still many underlying issues.
In the cities, control was better, but if the focus shifted to the rural areas, the council's influence drastically decreased. Lynn had received reports that some villagers on the kingdom's periphery still secretly worshipped Aila.
While these people hadn't taken further actions and it wasn't feasible to kill them all, it was crucial to keep up with propaganda to truly change their mindset from the ground up.
The second type of film aimed to dispel common misconceptions about magic among the populace and promote current council policies.
Lynn outlined his requirements, then reminded them to gather real-life stories from the lower-class citizens, confident that there were countless similar true cases that could resonate with them.
"Actually, some of your own deeds would be quite suitable!" Glenn suddenly spoke up. "A persecuted wizard who fled to the Land of Wizards from the Church and Empire, and then counterattacked to end their evil rule. It has both appeal and explosive elements, and it could help the commoners understand the history of the council and the origin of wizards..."
Rol looked at Glenn in surprise, having always thought Glenn was a straightforward and honest person, but his skill at flattering seemed quite solid, even quicker-witted than himself!
"Let's talk about such a large series later," Lynn said noncommittally, suggesting they start with simpler productions to test the waters and see the effects.
"About the techniques of filmmaking, camera use, and screenplay writing, I've written them down in this book. Take a look when you have time..." Lynn tossed a thick booklet to Rol and Glenn, urging them to study it.
The book's content, naturally
sourced from the smart brain's database and printed directly by magic, was very convenient and quick!
Rol took the four-finger-thick booklet first, quickly becoming engrossed in its contents, which detailed methods like the four-step creative process, three-act script structure, and the use of camera language, surprising him with Lynn's knowledge.
It seemed Lynn was a bit too omnipotent?
But then Rol remembered that the Star of Magic had reached a realm beyond imagination, with computing power far surpassing theirs, perhaps capable of multitasking to an extreme extent.
"Alright, take this book and come up with a script in half a month," Lynn said, dismissing them.
Rol and Glenn, knowing their roles, promptly took their leave.
Lynn then stood up from his seat, stepping out and instantly crossing kilometers of distance, with walls, trees, and rocks appearing non-existent before him.
Everything larger than microscopic scale seemed to have vast gaps, easily squeezed through by him!
Within just a few steps, Lynn had reached the outer areas of the City of Fire Oil, at the Death Zone. Over the past few months, his control over space had become even more adept...
This area was heavily guarded, with the outermost layer being a huge magical barrier, followed by a meter-thick wall, and the innermost layer his personally arranged protective barrier, even capable of shielding against divine detection!
Upon entering, Lynn was quickly noticed by the guarding wizards.
"Lord Lynn, Lord Victorio has been waiting for you for a long time!" Dennis hurriedly approached, excitedly speaking.
"It seems you've already fixed the spaceship's power system?" Lynn's face also showed some anticipation, knowing that the curvature engine, though a sci-fi weapon in the data banks, was conceptually unbuildable.
If they could make a breakthrough in this area, they could claim to have surpassed the Earth Federation of the past in the field of power!
"We've completed over ninety percent, the main parts are all finished, what remains is the protection issue of the alchemical array. We can actually start test flying today!" Dennis spoke with some pride.
In the development of this power system, he had provided many ideas, contributing significantly.
Surrounded by a group of alchemists, Lynn quickly entered the spaceship, where many areas had been dismantled. At the front and back, a curvature generator had been installed to create a 'front contracting and back expanding' U-shaped curvature space, making the spaceship slide along like on a slide!
Dennis continued explaining to Lynn that the spaceship now had two power systems. They needed to first use a nuclear-powered shock engine to accelerate the spaceship to over fifteen times the speed of sound, leave the atmosphere of the Eternal Star, and then activate the curvature engine to further increase the speed and fly into the vast universe!
The reason for this extra step was that they still couldn't precisely control the output power of the curvature engine, and high-speed flight within the Eternal Star's atmosphere might cause some terrifying consequences.
Lynn nodded, understanding that extreme speed meant extreme power, and Dennis's concerns were not unfounded. It was better to be cautious.
He didn't expect the first-generation spaceship's thrusters to adopt a full curvature drive mode; using hybrid power wasn't a bad idea either.
"By the way, what are you using as the energy source for the curvature engine?" Lynn suddenly asked curiously, but the next moment he saw a sphere of soil over a hundred meters in diameter floating above a huge alchemical array, secured by layers of runic locks.
Using soil and rocks as fuel?
Lynn was initially stunned, then sensed something vaguely familiar about it.
Could it be...
Just then, Victorio's voice came through.
"This is lunar soil, the body of the Moon God!"
Only this could provide enough energy!
