Chapter 562: Advanced Mathematics and the God of Knowledge?
"I'm not blaming you, Muto..."
Lynn patted Muto's head, consoling the somewhat aggrieved colorful giant beast, then suddenly stretched out his hand towards the direction of the cage.
A wave of invisible magical energy quickly spread in all directions, and soon the elements in the air began to surge and spontaneously rearrange themselves.
On the ground, chairs that had been overturned by the blast wave stood up again, and pages that had fallen to the floor returned to their original places, followed by a swirling air current in the room.
Muto's bell-sized eyes widened in disbelief at the scene before him, which was exactly the shock wave caused by the self-destruction of the black crow, now restored as if time had reversed.
Of course, this wasn't true time reversal; Lynn couldn't do something so exaggerated yet. It was merely a reenactment of past events that had occurred within the divine realm.
After all, all the elements of the entire continent were a part of him, so recreating something that happened an hour ago wasn't too difficult.
"Stop!" Lynn suddenly spoke, and the entire scene paused as if a pause button had been pressed.
Inside the cage, a crow had already formed, maintaining a posture of spreading its wings, with dazzling starlight bursting forth from within.
This starlight felt incredibly familiar to Lynn, reminding him of an old acquaintance—once the ruler of this continent, who had posed a great threat to them, Aila!
Since escaping to a foreign land, there had been no sign of her, and the matter of the Lord of the Undead had been delayed.
Even though he had confirmed with that lich before, the God of Life and Creation was indeed a real deity, Lynn couldn't help but wonder if this Star Messenger really could be from the so-called God of Life and Creation?
Lynn pondered and waved his hand to let the paused 'time' continue reversing. The black crow gradually tightened from its spreading wings, emitted a clear caw, and then bowed its head and closed its eyes, motionless.
As for beast-speak, Lynn hadn't studied much and couldn't deduce the meaning behind the sound.
And this crow reproduced in the cage was just a concentration of magic power, lacking a soul within, and those starlights were merely mimicry, unable to replicate its essence, let alone ask questions.
"Never mind..." Lynn snapped his fingers, and the black crow was instantly reverted back to its basic elements. Since he couldn't confirm anything for the time being, he wasn't prepared to spend too much of his mind here.
Whether it was the machinations of the God of Life and Creation or Aila's behind-the-scenes tricks, as long as his own power was strong enough, he needn't worry too much.
Lynn pondered and stretched out his hand, and a strange crystal appeared in his palm, almost instantly capturing Muto's attention.
It seemed like the most exquisite creation in the world, constantly changing shape in the void, each crystal facet shimmering with a faint golden light, with something flickering inside, resembling runes or some special symbols.
Muto stared for a while, then felt dizzy and overwhelmed, as numerous complex formulas instantly flooded its mind.
Maxwell's equations, Fourier transform, Euler's formula, Peano axioms...
Muto let out a painful howl, and its entire body 'thwack' rolled under the table, hiding and not coming out.
For it, learning was a very terrifying thing.
Far more difficult than basking in the sun, eating, digesting, and sleeping...
Lynn looked through the table rather helplessly at Muto. He had tried various methods before, none of which had made it study properly, clearly wasting its talent, so he had to use this forceful method of infusion.
Having power without knowledge meant only being able to use thirty to forty percent of one's abilities at best. In the past, the clergy of the church had suffered from a lack of education, allowing them to be easily defeated.
The strange crystal in front of him was naturally the quantum brain that had been entangled with his soul in a peculiar manner since his transmigration.
As for why it was so, whether it was a miracle, a conspiracy, or a kind gesture?
Lynn did not know, nor did he have any clues, but from what he could tell, the former was more likely.
After all, his abilities weren't anything special within the entire federation, and with the federation's level of technology, it wasn't possible to quantumize a brain and embed it into his soul, then send himself to the eternal star many light-years away.
This obviously made no sense.
Thus, Lynn never spent too much of his mind on this. The only concern was that the quantum brain was ultimately a creation of the federation, following the laws of Earth.
If he hadn't arrived on another planet, the quantum brain's
electromagnetic signals wouldn't be able to transmit, and he had used the sophistry that 'aliens have no rights' to control the situation, otherwise, he would have to consider whether each action conformed to federal law.
So after breaking through to the divine realm and gaining the ability to interfere on a microscopic level, the first thing Lynn did was to remove this device, modify the underlying code of the quantum brain with the deep connection of the soul, and turn it into his divine attribute, also obtaining a law according to the rules of the foreign realm.
Lynn named it the Mathematical Law!
For example, during the battle with the Lord of the Undead, the gears that materialized were a manifestation of the law, using the principle of exponential multiplication.
As for other corresponding uses, he was still exploring.
As for this priesthood, Lynn was quite satisfied, as mathematics has a very broad application range. Theoretically, everything can be presented in the form of mathematics.
It can indeed be said that this is the best tool for explaining and applying the laws of the universe!
...
In the following days, although the wars in the foreign realm had subsided, the wizards of the magic kingdom hadn't calmed down. After all, the scope of the divine war was too extensive, with many mountains flattened, lakes evaporated, and several railroads disrupted.
Even Lynn couldn't restore it with divine arts, as the damaged area stretched for hundreds of kilometers, creating several craters over two hundred meters deep, requiring an enormous amount of energy to fill. So, he roughly constructed a stone bridge, leaving the rest of the work to other wizards.
The hundreds of thousands of troops gathered in the north had also mostly withdrawn. This battle had resulted in over thirty thousand deaths, with most casualties occurring after Harolf, Aurora, and Victorio had withdrawn.
More than five legendary undead and a large number of elite undead had surged out of the space-time gate!
Anthony alone, along with fifteen Solar Cannons, simply couldn't eliminate them quickly, forcing them into a perilous melee battle. Fortunately, with the closure of the space-time gate and Lynn's slaying of the Lord of the Undead, these legendary undead suddenly weakened and were all eliminated by a few shots from the Solar Cannons.
Another hero was Lydia, who, piloting a fighter jet, single-handedly lured away a legendary skeletal dragon and delayed until the end of the war. With the support of the rest of the council, she successfully captured a legendary undead!
Three days after the war, a new round of the Wizards' Council convened within the capital.
Lynn, without a doubt, was the last to arrive but immediately caught the attention of all the council members.
After all, they all knew that this Star of Magic had stepped beyond the legendary level and reached a new realm, a true god!
Thinking of this, Raphael and others couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy, but Lynn hadn't changed his attitude despite the elevation of his life level. Apart from replacing Harolf in the chief seat, everything was as usual.
"There's no need to be too restrained. I think you all have many questions you'd like to have answered... You may ask now." Lynn scanned the room and spoke directly.
The people present exchanged glances, and a bold male witch was the first to speak. "Chairman Lynn, I want to know what exactly is a god?"
"You can understand it as a higher-dimensional life form." Lynn answered succinctly.
"Dimension?!" Raphael pondered for a while, recalling someone mentioning this concept when introducing quantum theory.
"Yes, our space is not just composed of the three dimensions of length, width, and height, but also higher dimensions. Everything we see, all matter and energy, are just projections from higher dimensions," Lynn explained.
"So how should we address you now..." a Grand Wizard hesitated to ask. "God of Wizards?"
Hearing this question, Lynn paused, having not really thought about this before.
Based on his priesthood, he could perhaps be called the God of Mathematics, the God of Olympiad Math, or the God of Knowledge?
Lynn finally shook his head and said casually. "A god is just a title after all. If you like, you can also call me the Star Realm Wizard or a high-dimensional life form."
Even the legendary Aila was referred to as a god by the empire's citizens.
"So do you now need to rely on faith and followers to amplify your power?" Aurora asked seriously, noting that both Aila and the Lord of the Undead had a large number of followers.
"No, I do not." Lynn shook his head, marking the biggest difference between him and Aila and the Lord of the Undead.
The relationship between gods and followers is one of mastery and servitude, where the former completely dominates the latter. Lynn didn't like this, as it could lead to dissatisfaction and rebellion, stifling the creativity of followers and lacking inclusivity.
That's why gods often don't get along,
due to conflicts over the source of power, faith.
However, his magical network system was clearly much milder, adopting a philosophy of exchange, cooperation, and win-win, so he didn't need to worry about the purity of faith or the risk of its collapse.
