Chapter 170: A Matter of Concern

There's no need to check the data displayed in the White Smoke Font; one can tell the numbers are rising. This is just the increase after absorbing a small part of it, and there's still plenty of Nen on the stone gate.

As Luo absorbs the Nen from the small black snakes that actively cling to him, and cautiously retreats, he is careful not to upset the volatile energy too much. It seems like the Nen is restricted within a limited range, otherwise it would lunge at Luo.

Watching the boiling Nen, Luo remains unfazed.

He knows that the Nen on the stone gate can enhance his strength, yet he is very cautious, not rashly absorbing all the Nen. This decision comes after witnessing two unlucky fellows attacked by the Nen.

The Nen, resembling small black snakes, can cause substantial physical damage to the human body, and even more terrifying effects.

Luo ignores the enraged Nen and turns to look at the two unlucky victims who were attacked by the Nen from the stone gate. They haven't died, but they look as if a fairy had sucked some of their yang energy.

Their skin is withered, slightly sunken, their faces are dull and lifeless, and there are more white hairs among their hair.

This is the change that occurred within just ten seconds.

Everyone looks at the two unlucky fellows, silent, with various expressions on their faces.

"Luo, are you confident?"

Uncle Li merely glances lightly at the two unlucky fellows and then turns to Luo.

"Yes."

Luo responds briefly. Absorbing a portion of the Nen earlier was easy, and he anticipates no further issues.

Hearing Luo's words, Uncle Li breathes a sigh of relief. Even without the demonstration by the two unlucky ones, he understands the dreadfulness of the Nen on the stone gate. Except for a specialist Nen Exorcist, ordinary Nen users are helpless.

Bisky crosses his arms, watching Luo with interest.

Many people know of Nen Exorcists, but few have witnessed a Nen Exorcist in the process of exorcising Nen.

In this regard, Bisky has some understanding.

Nen Exorcists are rare. During exorcism, they usually rely on Nen Beasts for assistance or make extensive preparations, even performing rituals. However, Luo seems to exorcise Nen effortlessly, without the aid of Nen Beasts or conducting rituals, making the process look simple.

It’s known that the Nen there is not to be trifled with, indirectly proving that Luo's exorcism skills are quite formidable.

Bisky’s inward assessment aligns with that of Antomu, so when Antomu sees Luo dispel the Nen entwined around the unlucky fellows, he quickly conceals his smirk.

Both are unaware that the disappearing Nen is actually being absorbed by Luo.

The Nen on the stone gate seems sentient, as it becomes turbulent and never calms down after Luo rescues the two prey and devours a part of it.

The emanating aura makes the Nen users present tense, while ordinary people, unable to see the menacing Nen, just feel a cold breath rushing from the stone gate, chilling them to the bone.

Under everyone’s gaze, Luo stands still for a moment, then slowly approaches the stone gate.

Countless fine black energies, like small snakes, suddenly rush towards Luo.

Watching the Nen coming towards him, Luo's expression remains calm, allowing the snakelike Nen to wrap around his body, intertwining with the energies floating on his skin.

In Bisky and the others’ eyes, they see streams of black energy coursing through Luo’s body, contrasting with the white glowing energy, forming a black and white color scheme.

Luo silently activates the White Smoke Font's ability, absorbing the Nen from the stone gate at a visible speed.

Meanwhile, the values of the six major systems gradually rise…

This trip... has not been in vain.

Luo watches the fluctuating values, feeling the energy inside his body growing stronger.

Whoosh!

Another mysterious strong wind arises, blowing Luo’s black hair, seemingly the last mournful wail of the powerful Nen.

Bisky sees clearly, as the strong wind arrives, the Nen on the stone gate becomes weaker and lesser, the entire exorcism process... very clear.

"It's done." Uncle Li thinks to himself, finally clearing this biggest obstacle.

After a while, Luo absorbs all the Nen on the stone gate, the data for the six major systems has increased to 29%, about to break through the 30% mark, and now, his internal energy total is on the verge of a top-tier Hunter.

With the maximum energy output for battle, he can also sustain about an hour's time.

"You can come over now." After dispelling the Nen, Luo speaks and turns to pick up the true master, then squats beside the stone gate, observing the bas-reliefs on it.

Initially, when Luo saw this stone sculpture, it was hard to imagine that this would be the entrance to a tomb, because the bas-reliefs on the stone gate exude a sense of despair and ferocity.

Unlike the refined style of the bas-reliefs in Parlo City, the bas-reliefs on this pair of stone gates are more like a child's graffiti, yet they roughly carve out the shapes and intended meanings.

The left gate's bas-relief depicts land, with many small figures holding various weapons, surrounded by numerous plants and animals, and some simplified forests and rivers.

The right gate's bas-relief depicts the ocean, a towering giant wave about to crash onto the people on the land, and in the wave, many monstrous creatures, all showing ferocious attitudes.

In the sky above the giant wave, there are also a bunch of winged, unidentifiable monsters.

By volume comparison, the creatures in the wave and the sky are incomparable to humans.

As Luo observes the bas-reliefs on the stone gate, the people around him gather closer, looking at the pair of stone gates on the ground, their thoughts diverse.

Most people are thinking about how much money these stone gates could fetch from the wealthy, but only Luo is contemplating the patterns in the bas-reliefs.

"Is this really... the entrance to Stajy's tomb?"

Luo silently thinks, gently touching the bas-relief, and information suddenly pops into his mind, causing his facial expression to subtly change.

No description, just a row of text.

Year: Unknown.

The inexplicable phenomenon shakes Luo’s heart.

"Nice job!" Ruby comes over, happily patting Luo on the shoulder.

Uncle Li simply gives a thumbs up, though he doesn't say much, his appreciation is evident.

This stone gate is the most troublesome obstacle; they would rather face a powerful Nen user than confront the Nen left on the stone gate, which is simply beyond their capabilities.

Fortunately, they met Luo, who removed this obstacle, but getting the treasures in the tomb might not be so easy. Now, the real work begins!

"Come help open the gate." Uncle Li shouts to the people around.

Hearing this, they all come over to help.

Luo suppresses his turbulent emotions, quietly stands up, moves aside, and makes space for Uncle Li and the others to work on opening the stone gate.

Perhaps because of the White Smoke Font, Luo becomes even more concerned about the bas-relief patterns on the stone gate.

Year unknown, is it over a thousand years, or even longer?

"You're amazing!"

While Luo is pondering, a slightly surprised female voice suddenly rings in his ear—it's Bisky.

He turns his head to look, only to see Bisky with her hands clasped together, casting an admiring gaze towards him, her charming expression truly endearing.

In an instant, Luo feels a chill rising from the bottom of his heart, his body even trembling slightly.

"Not bad."

Luo quickly stabilizes his emotions, showing no unusual behavior, but thinks to himself: Trouble, I've caught Bisky’s attention?

Although Bisky is generally nice, her mischievous nature could make things troublesome if she fixates on someone.

Pretty calm...

Seeing Luo’s reaction, Bisky's eyes dart around, just about to say something, when suddenly a rumbling noise comes from the side—it's the stone gate being opened.

Perhaps due to the eagerness to enter the tomb, this has led to Uncle Li and the others working efficiently.

On the ground, the two stone gates stand upright, revealing a pitch-black void, and the decayed dust is carried up by a breeze.

"There's wind..." Uncle Li whispers, then says to the people around: "Get ready to go down."

The stone gate is open, but preparations are still needed before descending, such as height testing, ropes...

"Just to be safe, put on a gas mask first."

Uncle Li says, taking out a gas mask from his bag and putting it on his face, while the rest, well-prepared, do the same.

Luo and Bisky, not having brought gas masks, look at each other as everyone else has already put theirs on.

This is awkward...
