Chapter 126: The Target

Although the Hunter Exam had just finished its first phase, all the examinees present were aware of Luo's formidable abilities.

Ignoring what Luo did last night, letting the examinee who came to steal the wild boar faint, and the fact that those who didn't faint were still terrified, just Luo's act of saving people at the foot of the mountain was enough to draw conclusions.

Catching someone falling from hundreds of meters high isn't something you can do just because you want to, yet Luo did it hundreds of times without showing a hint of being out of breath. His arms weren't strained, and he could still climb up the mountain on his own.

This made Luo seem even more unfathomable.

Therefore, the first man to reach the summit knew his chances of surpassing Luo were very slim, yet he didn't expect Luo to withdraw so straightforwardly.

Such an unexpected move, not to mention Dafei and the other examinees, even Buhara didn't know why Luo would do this. In his view, Luo was the strongest among all the examinees present.

As the examiner for the second phase, Tansen had no interest in exploring this. His job was to eliminate half of the examinees before it got dark.

"Next group." He looked around, saw that the examinees hadn't recovered yet, frowned slightly, and raised his voice to repeat.

Hearing Tansen's clearly displeased voice, the second person to reach the summit and the second to last quickly stepped forward, while Luo and the crew-cut man stepped aside.

The crew-cut man wanted to ask Luo why he was giving up but hesitated and chose to remain silent.

Regardless of whether he passed the Hunter Exam, he would remember Luo.

Dafei also wanted to ask, but since he was assisting Tansen with the second phase, he couldn't leave just yet and could only watch Luo walk away helplessly.

The airship could take the examinees eliminated in the second phase back to the ground and even drop them off in the nearest city. Dafei thought Luo would likely leave the mountain without waiting for the second phase to end.

His judgment was not wrong; Luo had indeed no intention of staying. He turned and walked to the edge of the rocky mountain. Despite the ongoing second phase and the many examinees still watching his every move, Buhara ran out from the crowd, caught up with Luo, and the two stood side by side on the edge of the rocky mountain, looking at the forest stretching far below.

"Aren't you curious?" Luo was quite surprised because Buhara didn't say a word.

Buhara shook his head, then hesitated and nodded slightly.

Seeing Buhara's reaction, Luo couldn't help but smile wryly. He didn't want to explain, so he patted Buhara's arm and said lightly, "Go back, it's almost your turn."

"I want to follow you," Buhara replied.

Meaning, he didn't care whether he passed the test or not.

He took the Hunter Exam with gourmet food as his goal. Since meeting Luo, he had tasted many delicious foods. So, compared to the Hunter Exam, he preferred to follow Luo.

Hearing Buhara's plan, Luo was unexpectedly surprised. In his view, Buhara was a future Hunter Exam examiner, meaning Buhara was capable of passing the exam. Yet now, he wanted to give up the test to follow him.

His arrival had an impact on Buhara.

In fact, even if Luo hadn't participated in this year's exam, Buhara, who spent his days catching drift shells for food, wouldn't have been able to board the ship, let alone come to the Amarlo Jungle.

Luo didn't want Buhara to give up the test. He raised his hand and slapped Buhara hard, making him stagger.

"That hurts," Buhara said, rubbing the spot where he was hit, looking aggrieved.

"You think you can follow me with your weakness?" Luo withdrew his hand.

Hearing this, Buhara's expression of grievance deepened, thinking it was Luo who was too abnormal. He also wanted to show himself along the way, but at least he should have been given a chance to perform.

"Come here."

Luo suddenly gestured with his hand.

Thinking Luo had changed his mind, Buhara's face lit up with joy, and he stepped forward.

Luo lowered his voice and whispered a few words in his ear.

After hearing Luo's words, Buhara hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded in agreement. At this point, besides listening to Luo, he seemed to have no other choice.

"If you can't do it, don't come looking for me."

Luo waved his hand, signaling Buhara to go back to the group of examinees to prepare for the test.

"Got it!" Buhara nodded firmly, reluctantly backing away

. He always felt that if he didn't shamelessly follow Luo now, he would miss out on something good.

It must be said, the natural instinct of a foodie is sometimes very frightening. If he knew Luo was going to look for Grade B ingredients next, he would become even more clingy.

After giving his instructions, Luo had no reason to stay any longer. Suddenly, he took a step forward and calmly jumped down.

The examinees watching this side burst into an uproar upon seeing Luo jump directly, drawing Tansen's displeasure. He hadn't seen Luo's act of jumping down from the mountain top.

Dafei saw it, rubbed his eyes regretfully, and regretted calling Chairman Netero. He thought Luo would definitely pass the test; damn it, who knew this guy would give up so mysteriously.

"Should I... call Chairman Netero to report this?" Dafei felt weary.

Watching Luo jump down, Buhara, though not worried at all, still stood at the edge, watching Luo fall.

As he fell against the wind, the cold breeze on his face, seeing the ground getting closer, Luo quickly adjusted his posture, stretched his hand to the rock wall, and forcefully stopped the downward momentum, eventually landing safely.

This method of descending the mountain was even faster than taking an elevator or parachuting. After all, Luo didn't want to climb down slowly.

After returning to the ground, Luo dispelled the aura wrapped around his hands, then shook his slightly numb arms and walked into the dense forest.

Seeing Luo land safely, Buhara silently returned to the crowd.

He would pass the test and then wait for the Hunter Association to send someone to teach him Nen abilities for systematic cultivation, and after fully mastering them, he would go find Luo.

Although unsure if Luo's words were accurate, Buhara deeply trusted Luo.

The Hunter Exam continued... On average, an examinee was eliminated every 15 seconds, and soon it was Buhara's turn.

In one second, the result came out.

Buhara merely pushed out a palm, and the examinee he was contesting against flew out of the circle.

......

Luo left the red land and, before entering the dense forest, dug up a few red stones and put them in his pocket.

No plants or insects could be seen on this piece of red land, and with so many examinees there last night, it should have been a considerable amount of food for the beasts in the forest. Yet, no beasts appeared until dawn.

Luo noticed this, so he dug up a few stones to put in his pocket, though the white smoke script didn't prompt him. He thought it was better to be safe than sorry.

"In another hour or two, it will get dark."

Walking in the dense forest, Luo wondered whether to travel by night. His target was the only lake in the Amarlo Jungle.

He had determined the direction while on the mountain.

The reason for heading to the lake wasn't for the legend of the Golden Lake but for the Grade B ingredients.
