Chapter 62: White Smoke Font and Pork Liver

Without any introductions, nor the intention to introduce his daughter to everyone.

After Kenda left, Barney stared at the crowd and said calmly, "Don't be nervous, just feel at home."

The people with chestnut hair smiled wryly upon hearing this, thinking it was easier said than done.

After taking his seat, Luo scanned the room, noticing over twenty people in black suits. He didn't detect any Nen users, only Kenda was...

Just this level of protection, and they are so confident?

Luo thought silently.

Elly, with her doll-like appearance, unabashedly examined Luo. As for Kuli and the others, she chose to ignore them.

Luo wasn't oblivious, fully aware of Elly's aggressive gaze, but he pretended not to see it.

"This is my first time asking for someone from Meteor Street, asking for a collectible as a reward isn't much, but I hope you can show your worth," Barney suddenly changed the topic.

"I hate it when investments yield no returns. If it costs a great deal and attracts useless people, that would be troubling."

The people present tensed up, except for Luo, who remained calm.

"The Elder Council values this collaboration highly, choosing only the best," Wogret said timely.

Barney nodded slightly, "Just don't disappoint me. Relax, enjoy the lunch later; it's a delicacy ordinary people will never taste."

Wogret and a few others nodded slowly.

Chestnut-haired and horse-faced men felt a sense of heaviness, while Kuli and Wogret, having planned ahead, rather hoped for stronger opponents. However, they needed to last until the auction ended.

Action would be taken only after Barney had bid on enough items.

Luo remained silent, constantly trying to reduce his presence, but was strangely targeted by a blonde girl, which was futile.

At that moment, Luo's nose twitched, catching a faint scent in the air, followed by the sound of light footsteps in the room.

Driven by the scent, Luo looked over to see several pretty girls carrying dishes towards the long table, followed by Kenda and a chef in white.

The dishes were covered with silver cloches, hiding their contents, but the fragrance was unmistakable. Lifting the covers would likely release an even more distinct aroma.

Luo suddenly looked forward to it, after all, this was a delicacy only a Gourmet Hunter could procure.

The girls first served Barney and Elly, then the others, with Luo being the last served due to his seating position.

When the silver cloche was lifted, a fragrance of fruits and vegetables immediately wafted through the air.

On the snow-white porcelain plate was a small boat made of emerald leaves, filled with a rainbow of translucent 'caviar' and several pearl-white strawberries.

"Caviar? But it doesn't smell like it. These strawberries look strange too, if not for the red seeds, it's hard to tell what they are."

Luo looked at the delicate emerald boat before him, instinctively swallowing his saliva. The aroma that entered his nose incessantly tantalized his appetite.

Barney remained unmoved at the head of the table, while others hesitated to begin eating. Elly, on the other hand, scooped up a spoonful of "caviar" and stuffed it into her mouth.

Barney glanced at Elly, affection flashing in his eyes, then turned to the chef accompanying the serving girls.

Noticing Barney's look, the chef bowed slightly and said, "Today, we have three dishes. This is the cold appetizer, named Rainbow Boat, which can stimulate the appetite."

Barney nodded slightly, then looked at the others at the table, "Don't be shy, eat."

Kuli and the others, already tormented by the aroma, acted surprisingly in unison, foregoing spoons to directly grab the emerald boats and pop them into their mouths.

Upon tasting the Rainbow Boat, Kuli and the others' cheeks bulged, chewing rapidly.

However, within two or three seconds, they consciously slowed down, fearing they'd chew too quickly and instinctively swallow the Rainbow Boat.

Kenda had reminded them about manners before coming in, and Kuli and the others remembered. But the Rainbow Boat's natural fragrance itself stimulated the appetite, making it impossible for those lacking resistance to delicious food to control themselves.

Luo, having tasted many delicacies, had some self-control, so he didn't act as unbecomingly as Kuli and the others.

He picked up a spoon, gently stirred the rainbow "caviar," which at first glance appeared to be caviar but was actually a type of fruit.

"This is an ingredient from the world of hunters."

Luo smiled slightly, gently scraping the spoon against the emerald boat's body. With a barely audible hiss, a small piece of emerald leaf was easily separated, then he scooped up the caviar-like fruit and a pearl-white strawberry with red seeds, placing them both into his mouth.

"Hmm?"

The fruit caviar and pearl-white strawberry melted upon contact, enveloping his tongue with a sweet and sour flavor. The hint of mint from the emerald leaf balanced the tartness, enhancing the overall taste experience.

"Delicious."

Luo's eyes widened; it was his first time tasting such a flavor.

Simultaneously, the white smoke font slowly appeared in his mind.

Rainbow Grains: Grown in damp locales, the fragrance emitted by the seeds within the fruit's skin stimulates appetite, making those who smell it salivate, and the seeds dissolve upon contact with saliva, primarily offering a sour taste.

Snowberry: Found in the coldest regions, buried deep in snow, reputed to be one of the sweetest fruits in the world, a favorite of snow bears, and hard to find.

Rolling Leaf: Grows in deep forests, leaves of the rolling tree, a common edible plant.

The white smoke font revealed the introductions to these three ingredients, causing Luo to pause slightly, but not overly surprised.

He scooped up about ten of the seeds with a spoon, looking at the chef, and asked, "Are these Rainbow Grains?"

"Yes," the chef replied.

Luo nodded, then quickly devoured the Rainbow Boat. His inquiry was merely to verify the accuracy of the white smoke font, and it turned out the chef also possessed Nen abilities.

Seeing Luo recognizing the Rainbow Grains, the others at the table were surprised, especially Barney, who was quite taken aback.

After finishing the cold appetizer, the second dish was quickly served.

Lifting the cloche, steaming heat billowed out, carrying the rich aroma of red wine like a freed stallion, racing in every direction.

On the white porcelain plate was a palm-sized piece of snow-white "meat," half-covered with a crimson, rich sauce, and decorated with a few small flowers on the side.

"This is the main course, red wine pork liver," the chef introduced timely.

Hearing the chef's introduction, Luo realized the snow-white "meat" was pork liver, but he didn't know what pork liver was.

After Barney began eating, the others eagerly started tasting the red wine pork liver.

Luo gently pressed the pork liver with a spoon, then released, noticing the surface of the pork liver quiver like pudding, full of elasticity.

He had never heard of pork liver before and was curious, but didn't ask the chef or rush to taste it.

He touched the pork liver with his finger, hoping the white smoke font would reveal information about it, but it didn't appear.

What triggers the white smoke font to display these ingredients? Eating so many meals in Meteor Street never triggered any ingredient information before.

Luo, puzzled, scooped a small piece of the liver covered in crimson sauce into his mouth, chewing. The smooth texture and explosive flavor of the sauce blended perfectly, causing his eyes to narrow instantly.

Simultaneously, the white smoke font reappeared, not only revealing the origin of the pork liver but also showing an overall increase of 0.2% in the awakening levels of the six Nen types.
