Chapter 54: Reencountering Hisoka

Luo mentioned that the Elders viewed Machi and the others as a bargaining chip of threat.

Chrollo understood this and responded that only those who can adapt to the times are the real talents.

Hearing this, Luo didn't continue on the topic. It was just a casual mention, and he knew that Chrollo was someone who would stay extremely calm and composed in any situation.

"If you want to take the lead, but don't have the ability to do so, then bide your time until you can."

This might be what Chrollo was doing.

Moreover, if anything happened to Machi and the others, Chrollo would never just stand by and watch.

Luo was sure of this, as could be seen from what happened with Cook.

Following Chrollo in silence, Luo thought about the mission that would start the day after tomorrow.

It would take half a month to complete the mission and return to Meteor Street, where he would stay for a while longer, until he became strong enough to leave Meteor Street.

Now, Luo had mastered the basics of his Nen abilities to the extent that he could be considered a second-tier Nen user. Going to the Heavens Arena, reaching the 200th floor would not be a problem.

This strength was enough to leave Meteor Street, which was like a beginner's village.

However, Luo didn't want to leave yet because of the Divine Hand.

Before leaving, he definitely wanted to obtain the Divine Hand collected by the Elder, but the Elder highly valued his collection and wouldn't even consider letting the Divine Hand go.

So, if Luo wanted to get the Divine Hand, he had to either steal it or take it by force, which basically meant taking it openly.

The chances of successfully stealing it were extremely low, and it would most likely end up in an open confrontation.

Since it was going to be an open confrontation, he needed to have enough strength to ensure he could get the Divine Hand and escape unscathed. With his current strength, it seemed impossible.

The two walked in silence until they reached the main road, never speaking a second sentence.

Chrollo brought Luo to the main road and said lightly, "This is as far as I go."

Luo glanced at the end of the main road and said, "It's still some distance away, but it's much better than last time when you left me in the alley."

Chrollo gave him a glance, said nothing, and then turned to leave.

Luo silently watched Chrollo's figure disappear around the corner, then looked up with a light sigh.

The night sky was clear, the moon hung high, and not a single star was visible, with thick clouds slowly moving across the sky.

"The day after tomorrow, huh..."

Luo watched the clouds moving slowly in the night sky for a moment before shifting his gaze.

Outside Meteor Street, in a bustling city in the world of Hunters, this was considered... the second step.

Luo smiled slightly and walked straight towards the end of the main street.

The buildings on both sides of the street ahead had their doors and windows shut, silent, with a lamp hanging on the wall every hundred meters, serving as street lighting.

Looking ahead, the road was dim and quiet, while behind him, there was the light and faint noise.

Luo looked back at the distant lights behind him, where there were bars, and then continued forward. Wherever he looked, there was no one to be seen; he seemed to be the only person on the street.

With a lamp only every hundred meters and the lights not very bright, there were dark stretches in between, but it didn't affect walking.

Luo walked alone for about ten minutes, then stopped under a wall lamp because, in the darkness where the light didn't reach a hundred meters away, stood a person.

The clouds in the night sky passed over the moon, casting a clear moonlight on the person standing in the darkness.

It was a young man with short red hair.

Luo looked at the young man, a hint of helplessness flashing in his eyes, and said seriously, "On this street, the last person I wanted to meet is you."

The red-haired young man was Hisoka.

Since their last parting at Cook's lair, Hisoka hadn't seen Luo, as Luo hadn't been to the East Street much after that.

"It's really cold of you. I... really wanted to meet you, Gon."

Hisoka slowly stepped forward, coming under a wall lamp. His long, narrow eyes slightly curved, brewing an indescribable excitement.

The distance between the two wall lamps was a hundred meters, with the two standing a hundred meters apart.

Luo rubbed the corner of his brow and sighed, "Could you let me off just this once, Hisoka?"

Hisoka slowly placed his pale, slender hand over his face, his eyeballs trembling slightly, and suddenly let out a low, eerie laugh.

That laugh was filled with complex emotions, excitement being the most noticeable.

"I am Hisoka, not Sosika. Remember that, Luo."

Hisoka leaned slightly forward, his tone of voice trembling slightly too, clearly due to excessive excitement.

He had been keeping tabs on Luo, knew where he lived, and was aware that Luo had been training hard lately. However, he had not sought Luo out.

Because a stronger Luo was more valuable to destroy.

"Ah, Gon is actually a nickname." Hearing Hisoka calling him by his real name, Luo responded this way, while also adopting a defensive stance.

Hisoka didn't speak but slowly took a step towards Luo.

Luo felt utterly helpless. Although this was their second encounter, he always felt as if Hisoka was haunting him like a persistent spirit.

"How about this? I introduce you to a great opponent, how about that?" Luo watched Hisoka's movements, his aura flowing from his aura nodes, covering his body, thinking of introducing the ever elusive Chrollo to Hisoka.

"Not interested." Hisoka's pace gradually quickened, his hand covering his face lowered to reveal his slightly twisted face. As he walked briskly, he slightly lifted his head and took a deep breath through his nose, as if deeply inhaling the scent of roses.

"I want... to destroy you!"

Suddenly, lowering his head, Hisoka's aura surged, creating a sinister aura that spread outwards, reaching Luo.

Luo felt a chill rise from the bottom of his heart, and then saw Hisoka charging towards him rapidly.

This fight was utterly meaningless to Luo, yet he had no choice but to accept it.

Sighing lightly, Luo's hands, hanging by his sides, emitted a faint white light, forming basketball-sized spheres.

As Hisoka charged to about ten meters away from Luo, he suddenly crouched down, his eyes fixedly staring at Luo.

Luo, puzzled by Hisoka's actions, saw a green garbage bin fly over Hisoka's head towards him at lightning speed.

It was Hisoka's Bungee Gum...

This scene was familiar to Luo; it must have been Hisoka attaching his Bungee Gum to a garbage bin about seven or eight meters behind him as he charged forward, using the retraction to pull the bin towards him, then using his body to conceal it, making its appearance abrupt and unexpected.

The reason for this was to create an opportunity for attack.

Caught off guard, Luo couldn't dodge in time and could only raise his hands to block the garbage bin.

The bin split in two, flying past Luo.

"It broke again."

Hisoka's eyes glinted with a cold light, his mouth curling into a dangerous smile, then he closed in, throwing a punch at Luo.

This ability... was the perfect counter to Bungee Gum.
