Chapter 41: Hisoka

Yesterday, when we ran into each other, it was just a brief glance, and I didn't see him that clearly. Now standing in front of me, I can see him in full detail.

He is a young man, around the same age as Chrollo, perhaps a year or two older.

The youth has unkempt red short hair, fair skin, a straight nose, and the corners of his mouth are turned up in a slightly exaggerated arc, giving off a sinister vibe when his narrow, phoenix eyes squint.

He wears a white short-sleeved shirt on top and loose white pants below.

Luo, staring at the young man blocking the doorway, feels this face is somewhat familiar. Suppressing his doubts, he calmly asks, "Are you following me?"

The young man, hearing this, stretches out his slender index finger, sways it from side to side, and says with a smile, in a tone that seems deliberately suppressed, "No, I just happened to be around here, then I just happened to see someone preparing to rob, so I thought I'd just happen to join in as a bystander."

The deliberate effort is too obvious, clearly a lie.

Luo pulls at the strap of his shoulder bag and says indifferently, "I don't believe you."

"It doesn't matter if you don't believe." The young man doesn't mind, leaning against the door frame, pointing with his index finger at Luo's shoulder bag, curiously asking, "Was the ability to dismantle the safe your Nen?"

Hearing the young man's words, Luo's gaze sharpens, deducing from this statement that the person must have been hiding in the shadows from the beginning to the end, and yet he hadn't noticed at all. Moreover, the other party is also a Nen user.

What exactly is this person's background, and what does he want with me, having only encountered each other by chance yesterday?

At this moment, Luo has yet to realize that this young man is actually Hisoka, a character from the original work known for his formidable strength. The reason being, Hisoka in the original work is recognized by his distinctively spiky hair, whereas this young man before him has only a head of messy short hair.

Seeing Luo's silence, Hisoka smiles and says, "Don't want to answer?"

Luo shrugs, responding, "Am I familiar with you?"

"That's true, I haven't introduced myself yet."

Hisoka takes a step forward, spreads his hands, and says, "My name is Sowest, and you are?"

"Sowest…?"

Hearing this name, Luo is momentarily stunned, instantly linking the original Hisoka with the red-haired young man before him. Thinking about it, they do resemble each other, except for the hairstyle.

But what kind of name is Sowest?

"Oh, I'm Gon."

Having finally recognized Hisoka, Luo, unimpressed by the other's fabrication, retorts sharply.

"Um... Gon."

Hisoka, unaware of any anomaly, squints his eyes and earnestly says, "See, now we both know each other's names."

"And then?" Luo, with a slight frown, remains on guard.

In the original work, Hisoka's level of danger is even higher than Chrollo's. He always observes anyone with a judgmental eye, determining whether they are worthy... to be killed!

During the initial Hunter Exam, this guy took the opportunity to massacre examinees, justifying it as selecting the qualified ones.

"I want to know... what your Nen is." A hint of cold light flashes in Hisoka's eyes.

Luo glances at the gap between Hisoka and the door, calmly saying, "Well, since you're so curious, I don't mind telling you."

"Oh?" Hisoka is slightly surprised.

"The Magician's Hand that can do anything, that's my Nen." Luo states matter-of-factly.

"Anything...?" Hisoka's squinting eyes slowly widen.

Luo nods seriously, "Yes, a magician's hand can do anything. Anything I touch can change according to my will, like just now, I wanted to remove the safe's panel. Just by touching it, 'duang,' it comes off, and more...!"

Luo's expression suddenly becomes serious.

"And...?" Hisoka's interest is piqued.

Luo takes a deep breath and solemnly says, "I can also turn anything I touch with my hands into... rabbits and flowers!"

Hearing Luo's words, Hisoka is momentarily stunned.

At that moment, as Hisoka is taken aback, Luo gathers energy under his feet and, like a cheetah, dashes towards Hisoka.

Hisoka, seeing this, his phoenix eyes narrow again, and with a swift movement of his right hand, he pulls inward sharply.

As Hisoka makes this mysterious move, Luo, who is charging at him , suddenly veers off course, as if yanked by an unseen force, losing his balance and crashing heavily to the ground.

"Lying is not good, you know."

Hisoka, smiling, extends his index finger, and a pink aura line stretches from it, sticking to Luo's shoulder bag.

This is Hisoka's Nen, which he had applied to Luo's bag during their conversation about Nen abilities. He didn't apply it directly to Luo, fearing it would be noticed.

His understanding of Nen is just at the beginner level; he is not yet capable of applying his Nen to a target without being detected.

"If you leave half the money, I might let it go," Hisoka suggests, squatting down to look at Luo, who is lying a meter away in front of him, still clearly lying.

"I don't believe you." Luo remains silent for a moment, then slowly lifts his head, suddenly revealing a smile.

"Hm?" A flicker of surprise passes through Hisoka's eyes.

At that moment, Luo quickly gets up with the support of his right hand, swiftly wipes his left hand over his shoulder bag, and then kicks towards Hisoka's right cheek.

Hisoka, unruffled, attempts to use the same trick by pulling on the aura line attached to Luo's bag, intending to make Luo submit and lay down again.

However, to his astonishment, when he pulls on it, the aura line attached to Luo's bag unexpectedly retracts.

"Impossible!"

This thought flashes through Hisoka's mind as Luo's kick, charged with energy, lands heavily on his cheek.

The sole of Luo's shoe makes intimate contact with Hisoka's cheek, the powerful force nearly distorting his fair face, and then sends him flying to the side, crashing against the wall before slowly sliding down.

Love's Flexibility.

This is Hisoka's Nen ability, which allows him to turn his aura into thread-like shapes, possessing the stickiness of gum and the elasticity of rubber.

After developing this Nen ability and through numerous trials, within a distance of ten meters, Love's Flexibility is guaranteed never to break, so the sudden severance was utterly shocking to him, allowing Luo's kick to land on his cheek.

Having his initial attack mysteriously pulled down made Luo immediately realize that Hisoka had attached Love's Flexibility somewhere on him.

Falling to the ground, Luo discerned from the direction of the pulling force that Love's Flexibility was attached to his bag.

Thus, as he continued his assault, he used God's Hand to cut Love's Flexibility attached to his bag and successfully knocked down Hisoka.

Knowing Hisoka's Nen ability was Luo's advantage. Using God's Hand to cut Love's Flexibility was a risky move but the only option, and fortunately, it was successful.

After landing, Luo steadies himself, adjusts his slipping shoulder bag, and turns to look at Hisoka leaning against the wall with his head down, smiling, "Surprised, aren't you?"

Hisoka slowly lifts his head, his right cheek swollen, but it doesn't prevent him from showing an interested smile, asking, "How did you do it?"

"Didn't I tell you?"

Luo extends his right hand towards Hisoka, earnestly saying, "The Magician's Hand that can do anything!"

As his words fall, Luo promptly takes the opportunity to run away.

Hisoka watches the open door, ignoring the pain on his cheek, stretching his mouth to its limits, and emits a series of deep, demonic laughs.

"Gon... huh?"
