Chapter 4: Lightning Speed Undressing

It felt like putting one's hand into rolling magma without feeling any pain at all—a bizarre and contradictory sensation. Although the heat seemed intense enough to melt one's palm, there was no pain, allowing Luo Lie to refrain from crying out in surprise.

His heartbeat involuntarily accelerated...

Carefully spreading his hand open under the faint moonlight streaming through the window, Luo Lie observed no visible changes on the surface of the jade. Yet, he could feel a unique life energy pulsating from it, which entered his body through his palm.

Had he mastered the Nen ability of 'Ten', he could have concentrated Qi in his eyes to see the vast aura entwined on the surface of the jade. However, being a novice, the aura remained invisible to him.

Though the aura was unseen, Luo Lie could sense the fluctuations of Qi emanating from the jade, sharing the same origin as the life force within him.

As more life energy from the jade entered his body, the floating white smoke characters in his consciousness changed. The awakening levels of the six categories shifted slightly—except for the Specialist category, the awakening levels of the other categories increased from 0% to 0.1% and then remained stationary. The Specialist category's level jumped from 0.5 to 0.6 and continued to climb until it reached 3 before stabilizing.

Once the numbers stabilized, the strange burning sensation from the jade gradually disappeared, and he could no longer feel any Qi fluctuations, as if a living entity had turned into an inanimate object.

Faced with this sudden change, Luo Lie was puzzled. Yet, he knew he had gained significant benefits—not only had the awakening level of the Specialist category reached 3%, but the life energy inside his body had also grown substantially, expanding from the size of a thumb to that of a ping-pong ball, and began leaking silken strands of Qi to the outside world.

"This jade stone..."

Holding the jade, Luo Lie could distinctly feel the life energy radiating from within him.

To any Nen user witnessing this scene, it would be astonishing. A commoner, who hadn't undergone systematic training or withstood attacks formed by 'Qi', had managed to open his pores in a short time.

This could be classified as... a natural-born Nen user!

Indeed, at this moment, Luo Lie had become a unique Nen user in this world, with the data displayed by the white smoke characters containing the essence that could drive every Nen user into frenzy and greed, offering Luo Lie endless possibilities.

This was akin to him carrying a treasure of immeasurable value, though he himself was unaware of it. Until the treasure was unearthed, no one would realize Luo Lie's uniqueness and talent.

"The Specialist category, I wonder what my Nen ability is." The Specialist category's awakening level displayed by the white smoke characters had increased to 3%, and Luo Lie's eyes sparkled, disregarding the other categories' 0.1% increase.

Driven by his will, the strands of Qi leaking from the pores in his right palm remained on the surface of his right palm.

Without systematic training, relying only on memories of watching anime in his previous life, he had managed to execute one of the four basic Nen techniques, 'Ten', albeit only within the range of his palm. This indeed was a demonstration of the 'Ten' technique.

To discover his Nen ability, he needed to master the technique of 'Emission', but Luo Lie hadn't yet grasped it, though he was conceptually aware of it.

In the room favored by the faint moonlight, a soft white light slowly brightened.

Luo Lie concentrated the Qi in his right palm, continuously for about thirty seconds, as the amount of Qi increased, eventually forming a white glowing orb in his palm. The light was soft, resembling a transparent small rubber ball.

"Is this my ability, or just pure Qi?"

Luo Lie's understanding of Nen abilities was at a semi-crippled level, unable to distinguish whether this was a manifestation of his unique Nen type or a form revealed by Qi.

In his mind, there was a thought of wanting to see what his Nen ability was. Thus, without mastering 'Ten,' he attempted to use 'Hatsu' to materialize his Nen ability.

At that moment, perhaps due to his uncertain thoughts, the normally stable white sphere suddenly began to tremble without warning.

"Hmm?"

Luo Lie was startled, and before he could react, the sphere in his palm suddenly turned into an untamed wild horse.

"Whoosh!"

The white sphere, like a spring compressed to its limit, shot out from Luo Lie's palm. However, it displayed a contradictory phenomenon: its flying speed was very slow, about the speed of an adult walking.

The sphere, unfortunately, flew towards Machi, who was lying on a hammock.

"Damn it!" Luo Lie's heartbeat suddenly accelerated, but he was utterly unable to stop it, as his control over Qi was terribly weak.

The white sphere landed on Machi, and suddenly turned into a thin layer of light curtain covering Machi's body surface, the light was very weak, like a transparent silk curtain.

The next second, Machi's pajamas and underwear unthinkably separated from her body, slowly falling to the ground, while the light curtain vanished without a trace.

"..." Watching this scene, Luo Lie's mouth twitched slightly.

Is this my unique ability? To enact rapid change? Surely, this must be a misunderstanding; I must be mistaken.

A sense of confusion washes over me, and despite my attempts at self-reassurance, the harsh reality forces me to confront the truth.

My understanding of this ability is quite limited, unaware that my mastery over it is superficial. The manifestation of the ability is influenced by personal will and needs, which can be categorized into latent and explicit demands.

Latent needs are those the individual is unaware of, while explicit needs are consciously recognized.

Clearly, without my awareness, a latent need catalyzed the manifestation of this ability. Fortunately, I am oblivious to this, otherwise, I would never admit to it.

In fact, although the display of this power is minor, its potential application elsewhere beckons the question: what if?

Moreover, as a novice, I exhibited my power in a rudimentary manner, defying logic. If word got out, surely no one would believe it.

At this moment, I hadn't thought deeply; I was merely captivated by an inexplicable attraction.

Normally, when one observes an unusual phenomenon, regardless of their intentions, they instinctively look.

Under the dim light, I noticed certain details but quickly realized the impropriety, thus diverting my gaze, pretending as if nothing had happened.

After a while, possibly due to a slight chill, someone slowly opened their eyes, their vision gradually clearing from a blur. She immediately noticed the changes in her surroundings.

She quickly adapted, utilizing the conditions around her to create a simple form of protection. Even faced with an unexpected situation, her response remained calm and puzzled.
