this show makes me so happy <3

I think Shiraishi's 2 friends were actually organizing the trip out but she herself can't make it due to her busy schedule. So now she is having friends while on her job.

I'm so glad you guys are loving this show as much as I do! Episode 3 is the one that smashed open the flood gates in my tear ducts as well.

Rhiannon

For Kobuchizawa Shirase and Shiraishi Yuzuki, it's best to remember that Shirase is Shirase's given name, and Shiraishi is Yuzuki's family name. That's how I was able to teach myself to remember their names. Shirase is Shirase, Shiraishi is Yuzuki. I'm really happy you two are seeing what me and others saw in this show!

Jacob's comment on tragic backstories really nails the feeling I've had about it for a long time now. That's why you can never actually relate to characters who have such tragic backstories that their ridiculousness completely challenges your suspension of disbelief. I'd rather have a character with absolutely grounded issues, it feels both more interesting and more real.

Besides the amazing banter that is in line imo of how teenage girls interact, it's the little things in the directing that makes this so much fun to rewatch. I think Jacob noticed it, but when Yuzuki was in her room just before the girls knocked on her door, there was a shot with the window and the curtains open. Yuzuki's walls have been torn down. She's now open to going on this journey with the other girls, because they have opened up this whole new world of friendship to her. It's those little shots that mean so much upon re-examining the show.

What makes the show even more emotional is the lyrics for the insert song. The timing that they insert it is always perfect and gets me all the time and to add to that the lyrics fit perfectly with the characters emotions and motivations of trying to break out of their shell and pursue dreams and goals.

I noticed the show because of Madhouse. I got hooked in the first episode because of the art direction. But the real reward for me for watching the entire show is how the show portraits relationship in such a believable and beautiful manner. I think that too many shows (especially Harem shows) have their MC being able to solve other people's problems by unconventional methods that miraculously work every time. But real relationships are clumsy. Each person is a little bit flawed and broken. And these problems aren't gonna be solved overnight. As the SOS bros say, for example, Yuzuki's problem aren't solved yet. This is just the beginning of the process. Most changes are gradual. People go through their lives and, once in a while, introspect only to discover that their perspectives have changed because of their experience. Rewatching this with you guys make me love the show even more. Hinata and Yuzuki are my favorites too. I like the contradiction in Yuzuki's character; she's professional because of her job, but she's the most immature in terms of relationship. Hinata seems to be the most mature and reliable, but you will also see her contradiction (which admittedly she already mentioned but only superficially) soon.

This show will have a lot episodes (if not all) that will make you cry and smile and think 'you could just die'. Happy to see you guys enjoying it, this will continue to deliver I promise you. Great discussions!
