Now, once again ignoring that the title says book 2 instead of book 1 since I haven't bothered going through and fixing the chapter numbers/titles to show that it's still book 1, we have now reached the real end of book 1! Yay!

                                          Year 820 | Month 4 | Day 13

A couple of weeks later.

I wake up in my bed inside of the King’s manor before just staring at the ceiling. There isn’t really anything on my plate today, since tomorrow will be the day of departure for the Conjunction. So I can’t really leave to go take on any other jobs like I’ve been doing since returning from the glacier. Not unless I want to be late for the Conjunction. And that isn’t going to happen.

With that thought in mind, I climb out of the bed and walk over to the window, my armor and cloak appearing on me from my inventory in the process. Which is honestly quite convenient.

After reaching the window, I open it and walk out onto the balcony before leaning on the railing, just looking out over the city.

It’s too bad I wasn’t able to figure anything out about the Wrath Crystal, or Wrath Transformation, since not even Hephaestus knew anything about it surprisingly. And when I went back to find the lich again, he was nowhere to be found.

So no success on making any progress towards the Tier Breach Mission. Outside of summoning the monsters, which was rather interesting on both sides of those things.

Oh, right. Speaking of monsters.

I glance towards the few monsters roaming around the inner court of the manor, with none of them even so much as being looked at strangely anymore by the guards – who are all hunters used to hunting monsters. The monsters are all varied, but one thing I have noticed is that they’re all of types that I’ve transformed into before using The Calling of Wrath. Whether that be large wolves, abominations, large tigers, worms, and even a large salamander and a primal werewolf. And all of them have the same color theme too, with their fur or scales or whatever being black with red streaks running across them.

Without much care, I raise my hand and activate the skill, making a mist of black and red leave my hand before swirling in place for a few seconds. Then it fades away to reveal another wolf monster in its place. The monster then immediately begins growling while turning its head towards the people, but I just walk up and grab it by the muzzle while lifting it off its feet and narrowing my eyes straight into its face.

“You hurt one of them, I rip your head off,” I warn the thing, and it shows that its intelligence is great enough to understand my intent and starts whimpering. Then, after putting pressure on its face with my clawed fingers for a few seconds, I let the thing go before no longer paying it any more attention.

The creatures aren’t absolutely obedient towards me, but they don’t seem physically able to harm me in any way, and they’re all just Tier 1 as of now, so they’re easily frightened into obedience.

I let out a sigh as I look out the balcony, honestly feeling conflicted about returning home. Because I know the moment I get there I’ll be given work as a princess again, which’ll be a pain. But at the same time, I’ll be able to see my family. Which will be nice.

And I can’t help but imagine dad and those two idiots just scouring Liathtria for me right now, since communication between continents is currently almost impossible without crossing the ocean. Which recently has become a bit more dangerous, mostly due to the sea monsters acting up for some reason.

My gaze is directed towards the front gate when I notice one of the princes – Prince Thórir de Alheim – arriving and passing through it with a few hunters alongside him, people who I’ve learned are a part of his hunter party.

Over the last couple of weeks, the princes have become a lot more open to me. Partially because I spent most of this time going around doing hunting jobs to kill Tier 3 monsters, but partially because of me having gone to the glacier and come back alive.

The King is still just as sociopathic as ever though. The guy still creeps me out, even if I am stronger than him now.

I glance at the corner of my vision where I find a red countdown slowly dropping, getting very close to 0, signaling that The Calling of Wrath is almost ready to use again. Which is very nice timing, considering how the trip to the World Tree should be tomorrow.

Will probably need that skill then.

Although it’ll take a very freaking long time to get the skill to level 3, considering that it costs about ten million EXP to get it there. Which is honestly a rather depressing number considering how much EXP I’m getting from killing monsters now. So depressing that I think I’ll have to go hunting invaders to actually level the skill, much less level myself up after reaching Tier 4 eventually.

I was kind of tempted to head back to the glacier again and use the skill to hunt more monsters, but I really didn’t want to push my luck. Since I already slaughtered a thousand monsters there, so I probably pissed off the stronger monsters already. Although why they never attacked or stopped me is still unknown.

After watching the monsters patrol for a few seconds, I go back inside of my room before heading for the door to the hallway, only briefly glancing at the maid that had entered my room at some point while I was out on the balcony. And the woman quickly bows her head and says, “Wrath,” before getting back to work again.

I ignore her as I open the door and walk into the hallway.

At this point I’m used to being called Wrath. But at the same time, I’ll leave my title as Scarlet on Liathtria until I’m Tier 4. Then I can change it to Wrath as well.

Anyways, time to go see if I can find something to do. Maybe try to remember if I have anything I haven’t done yet that I feel I should.

Then I can go ahead and get ready to leave tomorrow for the World Tree.

I sigh at the thought.

It won’t be long now before I’m back home.
