                                                                                                        Wolf

Two weeks later

“Go around it!” I shout to Sapphire while focusing on freezing the lava inwards from a large ring around the enormous lava wyrm. The creature has a body seemingly like a mixture between an enormous lizard and a worm, with several segmentations and four enormous legs, and it’s leaking literal magma out of its pores.

At my shout, I see Sapphire nod – surprisingly still in her bipedal form despite us fighting the boss of a floor theme – before she rushes over to the opposite side of the monster and raises her arms while drawing in some of my own voided ice element around her, turning it into a spear of liquid ice colder than liquid nitrogen. She then pulls her arms back and sends it flying straight at the creature that I’m still pushing further and further into the center of the ring.

The boss lets out a loud screech through its lamprey-like mouth right when Sapphire’s spear pierces through the joint of one of its arms, disabling it in the process.

“Keep it in place!” I shout at Sapphire before seeing her raising her hand giving me a thumbs up. I then pass over the control of the closing in ring of ice to Sapphire and flap my wings to climb up in the air above the center of the ring, where the boss is currently at.

Time to test this out…

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. Then, after a few seconds of mental preparation, I yank on the marks above my shoulders to draw in as much void element as possible before converting it, opening my eyes, and moving my hands in front of me while pushing all of the resulting voided ice element into a condensed orb.

Nearly three entire minutes pass as I continue to push more and more element into the orb until little black and blue sparks begin flying out of it, all while Sapphire continues keeping the boss in place.

Eventually, I grin and lower the sparking orb a little bit.

“Sapphire, now!” I shout, making her cut off her connection to the voided ice element keeping the boss in place and jumps from her platform of ice straight up to me while changing to her small spider form. And the instant she lands on my shoulder, I widen the gap between my hands and the orb before clapping them together, making a strange, muted sound.

The boss suddenly jerks its head upwards to stare at me in fear before attempting to rush away in fear, but the enormous iceberg around the tiny pool of lava it’s in stops it from escaping as a bright flash of black, blue, and white light shines from my hands.

Then, the moment I open my hands towards the creature, everything turns white. An enormous wave of frost and ice spews forth at a pace faster than anything I’ve every done before, enveloping the entire area tens of kilometers around us and freezing a massive chunk of the lava ocean and the boss itself.

By the time the light fades, the only thing I can see is white, with the exception of the red sunlight reflecting off of the ice and the very faint red light shining from the lava several tens of kilometers away from us. But the monster itself has been turned into a frozen statue, without an ounce of life left in its body.

What catches my attention most though are the tiny specks of black energy that I can occasionally see floating around the area.

“You finally did it!” Sapphire practically shrieks in my ear after turning into her bipedal form and latching onto me in a hug. “That was amazing, papa!!!”

I hug her with one arm while looking out at the destruction I caused with no small amount of awe.

It’s been about half a year now since the Initialization, and I’m already able to do this much. But is it enough to survive outside of the dungeon, with those Administrators hunting me down?

No. It’s not.

I need to keep growing stronger.

The exit suddenly appears somewhere above the frozen ocean, meanwhile a boss chest appears next to the boss, directing my attention towards the segments that the chest is made up of to represent the boss.

“Let’s get our loot,” I tell Sapphire before lowering down to the chest and touching it, just to find something quite interesting inside of it. “Oh?”

Sapphire looks over my shoulder at it and immediately gets excited as she shouts in my ear, making me wince, “You finally got something useful!”

I can’t help but glance at her with a frown before shaking my head at the innocent happiness displayed on her face.

This item is not attainable outside of a boss chest from the boss: Lava Wyrm of the Molten World.

Without any hesitation, I put the thing on before quickly flying over to the exit with Sapphire squealing in joy while hanging onto me by the neck. Which does make me wonder why she’s not turning back yet, but maybe it’s because we’re about to leave the theme.

“And lets get out of this hellhole,” I declare to a whoop from Sapphire right as I touch the exit, making the usual green flash of light appear around us. We then find ourselves standing in the middle of a very creepy looking graveyard.

I look around for a few seconds before jumping up into the air and looking around from the sky.

From the looks of it, we’re in some sort of haunted floor theme. We ended up in a seemingly endless graveyard with occasional old and decrepit mansions standing alone every now and then. There is also a monster I recognize from a lower floor.

“Revenants,” I mutter at the sight of the many 2-meter-tall zombies, each wearing full black armor with pitch black eyes, and miasma leaking from their skin and conjoining with the miasma already lightly coating the floor of the graveyard.

“You mean the boss of the first floor theme?” Sapphire asks while tilting her head at them before identifying them and saying, “They don’t seem that strong to me.”

I bop her on the head without even looking at her as I say, “That was on the tenth floor. Of course, they don’t seem very strong now as opposed to then.”

It’s kind of hard to tell what type of floor this is. There are plenty of monsters, and while the mansions are rather spread out, they are there and within a couple dozen kilometers of each other. But there still seems to be too much wide open space, and too few monsters for it to be a battle floor or a puzzle floor.

So I’m out of guesses here. And I’m not given much more time to think it over as some of the revenants notice us and begin sending bolts of miasma at us.

Well, guess I’ll find out soon enough what type of floor it is.
