I’ve been trying a bit of a new tactic for journaling lately, where I start with a short prompt and write the first things that come to mind. This helps me identify things that bring me joy (so I can prioritize making more time for them in the future). Don’t focus on making them “sound good.” Make them them true.

I’d love to hear your lists, if you’re open to sharing!

Try answering these for yourself:

  • I am happiest when...
  • My wildest dream is...
  • Given the choice, I would most like to spend my time...
  • I thoroughly enjoy...
  • I would love to...
  • I now spend my free time...
  • I feel a sense of accomplishment when...
  • My greatest passion is...
  • One of my favorite hobbies is...

Given the choice I would like to spend my time... Getting lot of RnR to recover from burnout and depression quickly so that I can go back to having the energy to do the activities I love to do. I thoroughly enjoy... Working on my origami to get grounded in the here and now. In order to do origami one needs to see and feel the paper as you make the folds. I'd prefer not to taste the paper and the paper doesn't smell however if it's quiet you can hear the paper. I would love to... Feel at ease socializing face-to-face and online. I'm tired of it feeling like I'm hiking up a hill of fear every single time.

This is a good idea - not sure if I will do it anytime soon, but it is a good idea :-)
