Breaking things into parts always seems like it comes naturally to others, but not for me. I tend to look at the whole building, not seeing the bricks that make it up. Laying one brick is easy, but not satisfying to my instant-gratification-centered-brain. Laying one brick a day is better than no bricks. My brain chooses to conveniently forget this. Instead, it says “Oh, well, we could never do that whole thing today,” and then never has to get started.

So true! The flip side of that coin for me is that if I can see the bricks, I'm overwhelmed by the sheer number and immediately go into flight (no fight) mode...
