I see many people online being confused about Aura's scales. I know you didn't talk about the scales being a magic item, but I still want to mention this for the people who are misunderstanding things. It is not a magic item. The physical scales are just a staff/medium for casting the spell developed by Aura. Humans (and Frieren on the human side) call the spell "Scales of Obedience," but more precisely, the "Scales of Obedience" name refers to the process/spell of weighting the souls on physical scales, and the subsequent mind control effect. It does not refer to the actual physical scales. It was even referred to as a spell several times (by the Graf, Frieren and Aura herself). And it was in this very arc that it was established that all demons create their own unique spell that they specialize fully on, and that this was Aura's.
