We're diving into the world of BOFURI this week and honestly, it's one of the most enjoyable series I've watched in the past year. The art of video game anime shouldn't be difficult to nail but often the authors lock themselves into a life or death troupe and ruin it for everyone. Since BOFURI is literally just a VRMMO it allowed for the mechanics to be explored in such an enjoyable way that avoided every misstep possible. Watching it was a treat and scripting my thoughts down felt like a stress reliever. Every anime trying to be a video game but inside one always messes up somewhere but honestly BOFURI didn't. By putting the focus on the world and slice of life banter it explored the what-if of what video games could look like in the future with a slice of life style to back it. Highlighting why this show works so well was really fun and I hope people dig the video.
