This episode (speech) is the same as the Rem one from season 1... this is a turning point of the wave of despair.... very moving... and also... look in season 1 REM brought Subaru hope and now Subaru does this for a whole city... what a development

The subs for the episode title was a little bit off.. it says The newest (most new) hero AND the oldest (most old) hero.... The newest hero of course referring to Subaru who became a hero with this very speech... actively.. he was known for his feats but with this speech he took the weight of the hopes of the people on his shoulder... he was a "heroic" figure but only passive and now he is active and the oldest hero refers to Reinhard who is the embodiment of hope for the people of Lugunica due to his very being as the sword saint... a title that is passed along for generations (thus oldest) because the sword saint was something like the first hero... wonderful episode... I would have hoped that this would be episode 8... it would have been such a great 12/10 ending for the first part

This was a fantastic episode. And I really apreciate how Subaru did his speak. First he synched up with everyones fear, sadness, desperation - but at the same time having them getting out of being paralyzed. Only to then build everyone up, bit by bit and awaken their spirits. That was awesome. I even cried.
