between the demiplanes of dread, vampires, gaseous mimics (they're real I tells you!) and gods know how many other things that don't rely on sight (and therefore don't suffer combat penalties in fog), I'm surprised fog isn't considered dangerous weather on par with hurricanes in fantasy worlds.

I think Colin mentioned it once, but our first Ravenloft session, our DM got an actual fog machine. It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen.

Who knows maybe it's just that nice Kraken from the HOEF who is lost and is trying to ask for directions. I'm sure He/her/they are more afraid of cavalier then she is of them(possibly)
