It has been a long time, but I remember Drizz't being framed for murder and I don't believe he ever cleared his name of it. After leaving for the surface, he slowly befriended a family of farmers, even protecting them from monsters. One of the monsters then came back later and slaughtered the family with a scimitar so it would appear Drizz't did it. I remember him killing the monster who did it, but I don't remember if he came back to try to explain himself.
