Hi Guys,

We now have a working single axis mechanism driven by a brushless motor. This month I will be completing the design and you will get to see the SSR1 with its jacket on.

I have also created a fully 3D-printable case designed to go in the SSR1's receiver. This is based on, and compatible with, the Kiiroo Feel Stroker case used in the Keon. This is essentially a Flashlight case, but a much smarter, safer, more compact design, so it's ideal for what we're doing here.

I am making this design free to download, and a copy of it is attached to this post.

For my Maker ($8) tier my target is to get the full set of part STLs for the complete SSR1 by the end of the month, so that you guys can build one of these machines. Those of you who have already built the mechanism (I know some of you have!) are already half way there.

My Benefactors ($16 tier) will of course see this design as I progress it over the coming weeks. I will be beginning this year's dispatches with my summary of what I've been doing in January coming out in the next few days. I also have the hangout video from January, in which Telani and I talked all things brushless motor, which I will try to get out at the same time.

For my Supporter ($2) tier this month I will be livestreaming on Monday 20th February at 11pm GMT (5pm EST). By then I will have a new machine to show to you!

All the best!

Congratulations T. Great work

So there won't be a brushless design for use with the Fleshlight case? Or do Fleshlight sleeves fit in this?

Very nice. How is the noise with this brushless motor in this chassis?

tempestvr

It's pretty quiet. I know that it can be improved to insanely quiet with some better control software, which I haven't had time to write yet.

This looks awesome!! Will for sure be building this.Any plans in the works for integrating twist in the future?

tempestvr

Going multi-axis with brushless motor devices is certainly high on my list of priorities, and twist is the second most popular axis. Short answer is yes.

is there a plan to make it attach to the osr2 so we can use the pitch and roll?

tempestvr

Longer term I want to build a brushless motor driven device that can do pitch and roll. I don't yet know what that will look like.

its cup thread at the top is the same as the keon ? I mean if I want to put powerblow on it , will it fit? also the same question about the cup of the double walled heating case for the sr6
