Can you blame him?  Sometimes you don't like change.  We've shown this before with Spike when Pinkie Pie came to sort of take over his roll as house cleaner and prepper.  Here is becomes overwhelmed when every pony wants to change things he is comfortable with.  Here it is done more for jest then hard core feelings, but there is probably some truth to it behind his tough reptilian skin (which I actually think is kinda soft).   Also comforting to know Twilight and Starlight had female (dudes too!) urges to decorate too!!
