Backstage for Marc Snowfrolic and the Quest for Biscuits, #26 of the 52 Project. I was halfway there at this point, still trucking along at 1 story a week.

A while back I came up with an idea for a horror story where there was an entire town of werewolves, called Rema, where the twist was that they were only human during the full moon, and wolves the rest of the time. I don't remember what the plot was, but one time it occurred to me, what happens to werewolves who find themselves craving human food when their entire town is wolves?

A hilarious thing happened when I wrote the first scene of this story (which I was stuck on for a few years.) I thought that a town of werewolves needed a werewolf who could do things that involve dealing with humans online while he's a wolf, so I created a mayor of the town who has the ability to read and do math while he's a wolf. And I named him Ken, because Marc was Marc and as a kid I was obsessed with the translated anime Battle of the Planets, where the hero was Mark, and the original Japanese name of the character was Ken. And because I'd established that Reman last names are based on jobs or personality traits, like Snowfrolic for a guy who loves to drive up the mountain and play in the snow, or Digswell for a woman who, well, digs well (she doesn't dig wells, she digs well), I set his last name as Mayor.

Somehow I had managed to completely forget that my ex-boyfriend, who semi-kinned wolves, and wore glasses like this character did, was named Kenneth Mayer. So I inadvertently made my ex a character in this story. :-) Ken Mayor is not directly based on my ex, but there are a ton of subconscious similarities.

I may return to this universe with more comedy because Marc Snowfrolic is such a fun idiot to write, or I may remember the plot to my horror story and do that one of these days. Or both.
